I believe it's called the '3DS'.

Yeah, yeah, it sounds awesome, and the ideas are almost limitless, but surely the DSi can do that already...?

This makes me wonder, if the "Newer" Pokemon Games are coming with this new 3DS.
R/B - Gameboy
G/S - Gameboy Color
R/S - Gameboy advaced
FR/LG - Gameboy SP
E - Gameboy Micro (Sort off..)
ect..

So the new Pokemon game, (What was seen in the Zoroark game Poster)
Must be related to this 3DS.
But i hope this isn't another DSi Rip-off *cough* XL/LL *cough*
If this new DS, isn't a 100% DSi, and if its new with the idea.

Then i give it thumps up.. this is just my opinion for nowz.

...Well, for the folks who are saying "I may not buy it"...Dude, you'll be missing out. This is the successor to the DS line, not a new DS model. So all the people who didn't listen to me can EAT IT!

I think it's almost certain, then, that Game Freak is using this new handheld as the platform for the Gen V games. I would be surprised if that were not the case.

By the way, it's called the 3DS, not the DS3D.

Anyways, I can't wait to see how things will work out with this new console. I just hope it shows a significant improvement over the current DS systems besides graphics.

I totally agree with you. I think Nintendo played a trick on us by saying that the 5th generation games will be released on the DS, making us think they will be released on the existing DS systems.
Now, however, I am certain they will be released on this new console, recalling all the quotes I read about the new games being so 'different, unique and surprising'.

Here's a few theories based on what you said Shadow:

1. The Pokemon Gen. V will continue on the DS(i) as planned and this new system (being "backwards compatible" as we know now) will not incorporate anything really special into the games.

2. You're right. The Pokemon Gen V will indeed be focused on the 3DS. 3-D battles anyone? I thought so.

Though there is a conflict with Nintendo's statement of it being for the DS...

Which leads me to...

3. The Pokemon Gen. V will be playable on the DS, but special and key features to the game will be inaccessible unless you buy the 3DS version.

Think Twilight Princess and you'll see where I'm coming from here. The GCN and Wii versions were virtually similar, but only in content. The worlds being mirrored and the style of control do indeed make a difference in progression.

An even better example: the first games of Mystery Dungeon (Red and Blue) were released for the GBA (of which I proudly own) and the DS. The only real difference was the touch screen for navigation and the wireless connection for mission help.

If these games say anything as to where the Gen. V Pokemon is going, I'm placing my bets on this last theory: one for the regular DS and another for the 3DS.

DID I JUST BLOW YOUR MIND!1!!11!

You actually have good points over here.
However, I think points 2 and 3 make the most sense, and are equally possible, so we have got nothing to do but wait until further information is revealed.

Yes. Yes you did.

But, personally, I don't care what GAME FREAK has planned for the 3DS. All I care about now is that, the burden Yokoi placed onto me to differentiate between each and every DS model, and to quiet random complaints... is now... lifted. Thank you, God.

In any case, if any Pokemon game is developed for the 3DS, you know it'll try to make every last use of the system's best of the best technology, since Pokemon is Nintendo's moneymaking franchise.

Acctually sounds pretty cool! I'd be curious to see what it looks like, though. I just can't really picture it in my head.

Personally, I think Nintendo may've gone a bit far with all these new DS designs. The standard DS and DS lite were great, but the DSi just seemed a little expensive and a little pointless to me. Then came the new DSi XL. Which, again, I can't really say I saw much point in. And now this. I'd definately be interested to see what this one's really like before I jump to any conclusions, though.

Hey guys I just had a flash of brilliance idea;

The 3DS should have a new feature were you can record game play and put it on you SD Card.

1. yes, you did just blow my mind.
2. If this is what they are doing for the ds, then imagine what they'll be doing for the WII!

this is what i think of the the 3ds. the code name is clever first of all, and second, I own a ds lite, so I may buy this interesting technology. Also, It depends on how much this costs. Probably around $200 AT LEAST. But can you imagine the possibilities nintendo just opened with this ds? Nintendo, lately, has been wanting older consumers, as many know. I THINK THEY JUST HIT JACKPOT... and with the pokemon games for it, it probably will do games for it eventually. Maybe not for the 3ds, since the 3ds is still so new, but who know? maybe they will. Nintendo has been using 3d graphics for Pokemon Pearl, Diamond, Platinum, Soul Silver, and Heart Gold. Obviously these may be hints. But as I said before, who knows? In my opinion, Nintendo is going somewhere with the ds, and it may be inspired by the wii. And if this is what they will be doing for the future ds system, imagine what the next WII will look like... and with that question, I will stop for you to think of the possibilities, not only for the DS, but also the WII...

Nintendo 3DS --> Nintendo 3DS Lite --> Nintendo 3DS XL
Anyone seeing that? I don't think they're going to make the exact same models (Lite, XL, etc) as the current DS, but I am certain they will release some newer 'versions' of it later on.

Oh, damn you Nintendo. Now you're making me think too much market and cash 0_0
