Missingno was in GameFAQs Character Battle 2010! He made it to the third round.

This is genius. I think it makes perfect sense for Missingno to have been there, AND make it to Round 3!

Yeah I saw that, but Charizard made it to the top 8 (and then was beaten by Mario).

Wasn't last year's winner L Block from Tetris?

I have no idea how this works but it sounds kind of stupid.

Each year, GameFAQs, which I am sure everyone here has visited, runs a Character Battle. Basically it is a popularity test. Each day they start a poll for each round on their main page and people vote for who they like more. You can see the full bracket here (winners from that round are highlighted in green). As you can see today we are on the finals for Link and Cloud. However, for the members they can make their predictions of the entire bracket. For each round predicted correctly they get points (the current scores are here). The winners recieve things like online gift cards for Amazon.

Well then I think most of these people probably voted as a joke because I've never heard of Sephiroth or Tifia Lockhart.

Missingno - what an interesting Pokémon. He/she/genderless glitch is kinda awesome, though.

Um... For those unfamiliar, Missingno is a glitch Pokémon from the first generation of Pokémon, and is a common pet name for glitch Pokémon in the generations since, most notably "????????????" and "?" from the 3rd and 4th generations.

*chucks a book at Magmaster's face*

Sephiroth is an extremely popular Square Enix character, with a cult fanbase and everything. Tifia Lockhart escapes me, but I'm pretty sure, if she's not a Square Enix character, she's Capcom or some other third party.

Bleh. Missingno. > Sephiroth.
Missingno. would be the winner if I were deciding.

Both are extremely popular Final Fanatasy characters.

Yeah, man, there you go, Mag.

Also, Tifia has the most kickass shoes ever. They're like hiker's boots.

Back on topic. I'm surprised that Magikarp isn't contending.

The 'Noble Nine'(Link, Mario, Crono, Sephiroth, Cloud Strife, Sonic, Solid Snake, Mega Man, Samus Aran) defeat all others then beat on each other.

Once in awhile a token outsider will make it to the quarter-finals or defeat a Noble Nine member but other then that is between the nine mentioned above.

Are you talking about overall winner? Then no, it was Link. Then OoT Link. It looks like Link is going to win again this year, but I don't know.

L-Block won CBVI

*Mimics SSBB*
And the winner is ....... Link........ again!!!!!!!!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I sick of this.
Oh and the only reason Charizard got to the Quarters was because there were no NN's in its division (Heart Division)

And for those who want a bit of history:
CB and other Tournaments on GameFAQs (the winner is first):

CB1: Link v Mario
CB2: Cloud V Sephiroth
CB3: Link v Cloud
Villians: Sephiroth v Ganondorf
CB4: Mario v Crono
ToC: Link v Sephiroth
CB5: Samus v Snake
CB6: L-Block v Link
CB7: Link V Snake
CB8: Link v Cloud

Not really, but large numbers of fanboys 'rally' whenever an RPG character is in the day's battle and rack up a ridiculous number of votes. It comes down to whichever character has the most fansites backing it up for that particular vote.

Much like how http://trsrockin.com/ supported Missingno through the first three rounds this year.
