It looks fake. If this movie turns out to be real, it'll be shunned by true Pokemon fans. It reminds me of the disaster the live action DBZ movie was.

I really doubt it. Pokemon never went on the edge to make a super mature kind of movie, and it really does not seem like the Pokemon company's style of business, so I don't think this is real.

Nintendo, GameFreak, and the Pokémon Company would never allow a live-action movie based on Pokémon, especially after the disaster of Super Mario Bros. And they certainly wouldn't allow one where a woman does commit or nearly commits suicide (and films it)

Besides, the trailer makes Pokemon look like some illegal item that you have to pay a buttload to get. Yeah... That's how we want to view Pokemon. Do you know how many enraged parents will complain if this crap were to come out? =/ "This isn't for kids!" "I'll never let my 9-year-old play these games again!"

Guns? A woman nearly committing suicide? Like many members over here, I don't think this holds any legitimacy behind it. If this turns out to be real (and I extremely doubt it), then it simply means disaster for Pokémon.

I agree it's totally fake but it would be not cool if pokemon became live action movie because it's totally 100% japanese not american.

My advice is to hire japanese/chinese cast the roles if pokemon live action movie is going to happen.

I don't think they would put Pokemon together with explosions and someone trying to commit suicide but still nice try.....

This movie IS fake. It's a fan-film. Someone linked me this. It's the full trailer and doesn't look all that crappy.

From the video's description:
Quote:
Celadon City hasn't been the same since the Gyms closed down. Pokémon fighting has gone underground, and the sport has gotten a taste for blood. Ash, Misty, and Brock have been forced deep into the city's seedy underbelly to keep training, but the Pokémon aren't the only ones in danger. Now, Ash must choose to either become a master in the grim world of illegal pokémon fighting, or make a desperate stand to free them all from the criminal grip of Rocket Industries.

Pokémon Apokélypse is a fan-trailer responding to the common trend of 'dark and gritty' reboots of popular franchises. An article about the production of Apokélypse will be available on Shogun Gamer shortly. If there are still any doubts as to the legitimacy of this trailer, please visit this link to the rating board's classification of this film: (removed, see the video page for it)
I guess some people are going to make this for the heck of it.

Wow... That's a dark movie. I don't really like the Pokémon models, they're a bit freaky, too realistic and not similar enough to the actual Pokémon (I mean seriously, Pikachu looks like a runt). Still, it looks like it'd be worth watching!

I can only assume that's because Pikachu is so old. It lost it's baby fat and started to look a little mangy. xD

I agree. The good trailer (with a story to follow) looks interesting.

Mewtwo looks like he'll play some kind of role?

By the way, is there going to be a full movie made from this, or is this just a teaser.

Pikachu and Snorlax look awful, everything else is pretty fantastic! (Except the guy who screams, he doesn't seem like a very good actor.)

I want to say a full movie, done by fans, but I'm not sure. You may find out if you visit the link on the YouTube page, but seeing as the end said "Summer 2010" and it's now Fall... I think just the teaser for now.

I might watch the movie for the hell of it (if it is real), but even if it is a Real-Life Pokemon movie, the Pokemon need to look more like Pokemon, not a bunch of retarded looking Pokemon like Pikachu (He looks like a starving rat, Weezing looks googly eyed, Squirtle like he is on crack and gets his shell blown up and blood goes every where, Mewtwo, I cant even explain that, Gyarados looks like a robot, Snorlax like a F**ked up teddy bear), I mean WTF!!! Even if it turns out real, the people who made it doesnt know nothig about Pokemon, since it only has 1st Gen. Pokemon in it (some old fart played pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow and then 12 or so years later he went "I want to make a movie of Pokemon!"). That's what I think.

I gotta give them props for special effects, but please no big-budget movie. I don't wanna see a movie where Pikachu ACTUALLY DIES! Although, he is alive from the pokemon center from what I saw in the trailer. Thank god it's fake. I think this would still make a good youtube videos movie, better then a big-budget movie. Other then that, I hope it's like "There will be Brawl". I will see it only out of curiosity though.

Snorlax's scene show Ash throwing a ball at him, so that may be why he looks weird? I don't know.

The underground battle seemed pretty intense, though.

Guns... we haven't seen guns in forever in the Pokémon universe... but Ash sure does have a long way to go to try to catch 'em all, 649+ in fact.

It looks interesting if those fans ever decided to make a "full movie" out of it

I thought that was extremely... uncanny. Pokemon isn't made for live-action, it seems, and we're so accustomed to seeing it in the form of cartoons (or 3D video games like Colosseum). The production values didn't look hot at all, with the stiff and robotic model animations and cheesy acting and scripting (gosh, I hope none of the people who made this see my post ).

However, this got me thinking of the possibilities of a 3D animation, like the kind Pixar and Dreamworks make. If the Pokemon look just fine in the 3D games, then I think there wouldn't be a problem with a 3D animation, provided it's well-produced.

I think James Cameron could do a good job on pokemon if he uses the same Avatar effects it could turn out to be a outstanding movie. When i saw the animals on the Avatar planet like the Dragon and the shiny fairies I was thinking this could be a great step for pokemon/digimon live action movie.

I mean if he's only in it for the special effects that would be great. There's no denying how visually stunning Avatar was.

...I don't know you anymore....

Anyways, I would like it if Disney/Pixar did it, DreamsWorks wouldn't make it very serious for a 3-D animated movie. :/ (although, one thing about Disney is hopefully they don't F*** it up)
