Hello, everyone! While browsing the web, I found out that a tear out from the magazine, Pokemon Pia (Peer) has been released, confirming Isshu based on New York. The text below states: Our adventure setting is in New York?!

I personally am happy about this. Thoughts, anyone?

hmm, I don't really think its in New York, I think it might be somewhere else, unless you are talking about the region is based off the City then you might be wrong there, last time I've checked Manhattan doesn't have a lake there, Oh did I mention the Isshu is a region not a city, you can't really say unless you check a map with being nearly the same landmass, I'm sorry but this is my opinion on these things about your discovery.

Did you forget that New York is a state too?

I don't understand that the big deal is... Does it matter than the new setting is New York? If it does turn out to be true, that'll be a little saddening. Sept 12 comes after the anniversary of Sept 11. It's a little... I don't know. It's kind of a low blow.

This is an official magazine, so it is New York (State, most likely), like it or not.

EDIT: Yes, it kind of is a big deal that the setting is America. It means that we will most likely be seeing cool, diverse settings within these games. One example is seasons.

Hmmmmm.....
Is it just me, or does Nintendo hate New York? The game comes out ONE DAY after 9/11, and Koffing's original name was going to be NY to make fun of New York's polluted air.

This is true, inside the magezine is an interview with Junichi Masuda who confirms it.

You are wrong. The game comes out 9/18.

Oh. Well then. But I still think Big N hates New York.

I take back what I said earlier the entire magzine isn't officially source.

And the entire thing is fake because the supporters are going freat lengths now to prove there point.

Well, it was already mentioned earlier that Isshu will be more advanced and modern than the previous regions. Therefore, it makes perfect sense to base the region on New York for me.

Thread unlocked because Pokébeach just approved Pokémon Peer to be an official source. Therefore, what's mentioned about the Isshu region being based on New York is more than likely true. Also, we'll be getting more background information about this when the magazine comes out on Friday (i.e, tomorrow) in Japan.

The magezine hasn't even come out yet Shadow, I'm going to have to repeat and remind you it was fake.

The entire thing was created by members of tch supporting Isshu being based off New York so they made this even if pokebeach was an official source what he's interpretting seems more like he's just supporting it.

Okay, I'm not going to get into an argument with you now, so I'll wait until the magazine comes out, then we can decide on this thread.

Pokébeach already got a copy of Pokémon Peer. The magazine confirms that the entire Isshu region is based on New York, and that the inspiration behind the Sky Arrow Bridge was the Brooklyn Bridge. There's no doubt that the magazine is an official source, as it has been accepted by both Serebii and Pokébeach a good while ago.

That's pretty cool Nintendo made a region based of a place from real life.

Actually ALL the regions are based on places in real life. Kanto-Sinnoh are Japanese areas, but Isshu is the first one outside of Japan.

Well, we already have got black people (NO OFFENSE INTENDED) and footballers in B/W, so I guess that represents the American folk.
