Okay, we all know that Pokemon Red and Green in Japan had some pretty awful Pokemon sprites. And if you don't know that, you do now.

Look at the picture below and decide on the worst sprite there.

I have to say either Poliwrath or Ekans... There's something wrong with them. Mew seems to have spine problems, too.

I'll make a list: Ekans, Sandshrew, the Jigglypuff line, Persian (or however you spell it, forgot), Machamp, Geodude,Gastly,Hypno's nose,Exxegutor, Scyther, Jolteon and Myu.

I'll say Magmar.

Wigglytuff, Farfetch'd and Exxegutor.

Kakuna for ugliness, Wigglytuff has disproportioned eyes, Vileplume looks a 3rd grader drew it, I actually like Meowth's sprite, and I like the Abra family sprites, Hypno's nose looks like...*ahem*..., and the Krabby family looks good aswell, Eevee looks pissed, and the Horsea & Goldeen lines are horrendous.

I'd say the worst is either Farfetch'd or Lickitung though.

Golem is too happy.

Electrode, Diglett, Nidoran, Mankey, Venusaur, Rattata, Fearow, Pidgey, Seaking, Jolteon, Dragonite, Gastly, Ponyta, Vaporeon, Poliwrath, Butterfree, Venomoth, Poliwag, Nidorina, Golduck, Ivysaur, Grimer, Victreebel, Moltres, Nidoking, Farfetch'd, Abra, Jigglypuff, Rhyhorn, Kingler, Clefable, Wigglytuff, Zubat, Primape, Meowth, Onix, Geodude, Rapidash, Magneton, Snorlax, Gengar, Tangela, Goldeen, Spearow, Weezing, Seel, Gyarados, Slowbro, Kabuto, Persian, Paras, Horsea, Raticate, Magnemite, Kadabra, Weepinbell, Ditto, Cloyster, Caterpie, Sandshrew, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Golem, Pikachu- *epic shots*
But honestly, most of the original sprites sucked ass. Ivysaur and Venusaur's stems are too thin, Charizard looks plain silly, Pidgey looks too photo-realistic, Nidoqueen looks less menacing, Wigglytuff's eyes are two different sizes, Golbat looks like something out of Aah! Real Monsters, Oddish line looks freaking nightmarish, Poliwrath... just no, Machop kinda looks like a duck, Geodude looks like it's dumping a load, Graveler only has 2 hands and no feet, Golem... I'm not quite sure, but it still looks weird, Muk is fli- wait, no he isn't, Gastly, Haunter, and Gengar look much more different than their current appearence, OLD MAN PEDOPHILE!, Electrode has a little lid on his head (or his body...), Exeggutor looks plain retarded, Marowak's head looks nothing like the skull worn by Cubone, Hitmonchan's face is hidden, Lickitung looks semi-frightening, Koffing's skull-and-crossbones is upside-down, Rhyhorn and Rhydon have very few differences, they still haven't made baby Kangaskhan a pre-evo, no clue why they couldn't have Kingdra in Gen. 1, LOLOL BLACK JYNX NOW RAEG AT ME, Lapras looks like it has deformed back legs, Moltres looks a bit off, and last but not least, Mew looks like a fetus.

...Wow. That's a lot of criticism.
tl;dr version; The only ones that look good are Mewtwo, Krabby, Porygon, Electabuzz, Omanyte, Kabutops, and, surprisingly, Magikarp.

Ok I have to say it: That Dragonite is the UGLIEST thing I have ever seen.

Ekans has big mouth.
Hypno is on drugs.
What the hell is wrong with Machamp?
Geodude looks gay.
Marowak looks like a plush.
Mew looks retarded.

Clefable actually was cute in its sprite.
Lickitung is like, realistic creepy.
Hypno is creepy.
Chanseys head is disproportioned.
Mew is an old man with back problems.
Raichu is like DERP DERP.
Wigglytuff is like Owo
And Alakazam grew his beard/mustache out waaaaay too long.

I think Mew, Bubasaur and Gengars sprites look horrible to me. Especially Gengars. he looks all messed up. I think Charizards sprite is bad too because his back sprite looked like a donkey to me at first xD

Venasaur is about to be crushed underneath the overgrown parasite on its back, Wigglytuff's eyes are of unequal size, Golduck's tail is WAY too pointy, Tentacool has mini tentacles, Gengar looks like an effin' monster, Exeggutor looks mentally disabled AND drunk, Moltres looks high, and Mew... no.

To me i think that Charizard is the worst sprite I've ever seen.

Spearow's beak looks weird, Ekans' mouth is huge, Wigglytuff has one eye that's twice as big as the other, Vileplume looks like it was drawn by a kid, Primeape has spikes for fur, Arcanine has Slowpoke's face, Machop has one huge arm, Moltres has weird fire, and just about everything is wrong with Mew.

Other sprites that I just don't like: Sandslash, Venasaur, Raichu, Oddish, Digglet line, Geodude, Doduo, Gastly, Marowak, Rhyhorn, Scyther, Eevee, Porygon, Kabutobs, Articuno.

Don't forget, Machop, Machoke, and Machamp

The worst looking one in my opinion has to be Mew. The three runner-ups are Dragonite, Charizard and Venusaur.

Pikachu is still looking good though!

Gastley looks like it was made with MS Paint... >.>;

I mean, all of them do, but it looks like Gastley in particular was made using the Spraycan tool... o_o;

Technically, almost all the sprites are ugly...this is the game we all had to start out with.

Charizard, Exeggutor (SPELL IT RIGHT PEOPLE.), Mew, Vileplume, Machamp, Geodude, Golem, and Hypno.

A bunch are f**ked up but the one that is worst is Venusaur, it looks like roadkill with a tree growing out its back.

I actually kind of like them, knowing how mind numbing it is to sit and pixel things in of course, I think they are fairly well made.

What I did notice though, is how few 151 actually is.

Hitmonchan looks like a Togekiss sneaking up on a Doduo. Wigglytuff and Machamp are just..... odd..... Haunter looks cool though.

1: Eevee. It looks like... Some sort of sly cat or something. It doesn't look like Eevee at all, which really dissapointed me because it's my most favorite 1st gen. Pokemon.
2: Blastoise looks like it had sixty-five Big Macs.
3. Golbat looks like it's going to kill someone. o_o
4. Gastly looks too much like gas.
5. Seadra. The fins sorta bug me.
6: Poliwrath. Just...No.
7: Pidgeot looks deformed.
8: Vileplume sort of looks like a stick figure.
9: Chansey. Again...No.
10: I thought Kingler only had one big pincer.

But Magicarp seems completly normal in my eyes.

Gengar and Chansey just kinda look fat intead of whatever body shape they normally have.

I heard about green version, japan has in japanese only and you have to buy it from them from over seas. But i would like to know whats so different about green than Red and Blue? (Besides the sprites)

My opinions of certain ones:
Meowth is too fat.
Eevee, Kakuna, and Lickitung look scary.

Well anyway my personal view is Machamp why do you look like you took tooo many drugs? Eevee why did you eat all that cake last night? Charizard stop imitating Dragonite. Mew just get surgery for your spine and Bulbasaur you look kinda normal to me because you have your teeth showing and you look like you had a really good life.

I just can't get over how terrible the Bulba family and mew looked in these old... sprites. They are just... well, seemed like that the pixel artist wasn't exactly doing a good job. I think all of this was because they were doing from memory and also not tracing over scanned art (which probably started from Yellow).
