I was going to post with several ideas that work, but everyone thinks this is a game. It would be nice if you went into more detail.

The world is divided into four tribes: Water, Fire, Earth, and Air. Most people have magical abilities, mostly based on nature and their specific element (*coughavatarcough*), but a few (called aumurs) do not have magical powers. Throughout history, the aumurs were considered less than human (like, they believed that it was a birth defect or something to not have magic).

All humans (including aumurs) have souls. A few members of the fire tribe (called soul reapers) have the ability to sense souls and steal them from others. The most powerful members of a certain tribe are called sages. They have souls that give off a stronger reading to soul reapers than most people. Aumurs cannot be sages.

Recently (about 20 years ago) they were given political power in a new world order (the first governmental body to have power over all four tribes and the aumurs). The leader (of the soul reapers and the government) was corrupt, and one day the leader killed all the other members and his soul reaper army took control of the government.

The main character, Darren, son of the aumurs' leader, has a soul as powerful as a sage. The leader of the fire tribe wants to kill him and use his soul for a powerful spell. So he tries to kill Darren, and fails... somehow. Darren is forced to live as a fugitive.

Sorry I had to barrage you with all that info.

Things I need help on:
- IDK how the heck Darren escaped the aforementioned bad guy
- This was based off a Pokemon fanfic I never got to writing, in which the Main Character had a brother. Darren doesn't have a bro, but it would probably be a good idea to give him one. What do you think?

Ok, first off, you mentioned it's based off Avatar (even if it's not, people will associate that to the story). Because of that, it can either hurt you or help you.

However, Darren could be a little crafty for his own good. Tell me about his character. It wouldn't be too outrageous if he somehow found a way out of bondage and just snuck out as he hid in the shadows. You may want to do some light RPing for idea gathering. That's always worked for me. It also helps in character development.
