Im not sure if theres already been a thread like this, but i couldnt find anything in search.

But anyway, Ive recently got a copy of super street fighter 4, and ive noticed alot of similarities between brawler games and the style of battling in the anime. Both involve looking for gaps in defense, dodging, and both have powerful special moves that inflict heavy damage, but leave a player wide open to attack if it misses (Super/Ultra Combo & Hyper Beam and its variants).

If someone replaced the character models in a pc version of street fighter 4 with custom pokemon models, it would actually be quite interesting. The attacks would be really similar too.

Fire Punch, Sky Uppercut - Shoryuken
Aura Sphere, Focus Blast - Hadoken
Close Combat - Various Combos
Seismic Toss - somewhat similar to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fk0BFGDIOw

There should be a mod of SSBB that only has pokemon.

Hmm.. that makes sense, but I can only see Normal and Fighting-types in there, because someone like Alakazam or Gengar would be really cheap and unfair. It seems pretty cool, but it would involve a lot of work and creativity.

I would love to see a SSB-type game with just Pokémon.

However, you should definitely check out Pokémon Type Wild.

i guess psychic and ghost pokemons would rely heavily on elemental attacks, or like, punches/kicks infused with psychic and ghost energy. and theyd also have an awesome teleport move like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4KJHNleBsI
