New Pokémon Yanappu, the Grass Monkey Pokémon, was revealed on Pokémon Sunday today. Earlier hinted at by fake leaks and figurines, this Pokémon is finally confirmed to be in Pokémon versions Black and White.

Yanappu shall have the ability Gluttony and is a Grass-type. It weighs 10.5kg and has a height of 0.6m. It also knows a new move called Acrobat. In a triple battle, Acrobat shall be able to hit any opponent, and not just the Pokémon in it's user's normal range.

MONEY?! "Zaru" (猿) means "monkey!" The graphic says くさざる（草猿）, or "grass monkey."

For some reason reveals always look weird to me, but then they look pretty cool when they're in the form of a sprite or in the anime.

Heh, the broccoli Pokémon. I'm guessing Acrobat, if it's a move, is a priority move (It also attacked first in the small clip of it). It'll be nice to see an evolution (Probably a giant monkey tree/Grass-type Infernape).

Well until his english name is revealed I'm calling him grass type aipom.

Grass Monkey is pretty cool. Won't be using him, though, he doesn't beat Smugleaf.

I want some grass money >.<, but this is probably one of my least favorite Pokemon shown so far.

Just... What. I haven't really hated any of the new Pokemon until I saw this thing.

I ain't a big fan of Kurumiru. Why is everyone hatin' on Yanappu!? ;~;

Also, wtf is with all of these cutesy Pokémon being introduced? Who is looking forward to using the first-stages rejects? I wanna see this Grass Monkey's evo before he's redeemed.

Yanappu doesn't look like a Grass Chimchar, more like a Grass Monferno. I'll name it brocolli. I won't catch one, because more than one type in the same team doesn't work for me. (Unless its Lugia and a Psychic type, because Lugia should be WATER TYPE)

I don't really know what to say about it except that it kinda reminds me with Aipom.
To be honest, I'm not particularly excited about it.

EDIT: Pokébeach states that Yanappu is probably going to be used by Dento, since he's a waiter and the Pokémon resembles a broccoli. Plus, Dento's hair is green in colour, and the background behind him in his Ken Sugimori artwork is green, too. This might mean that he is a Grass-type gym leader, though this is not confirmed yet.

It is just a normal Pokémon to me, I believe. If the evolution is the same as this one, then for sure, this won't be in my team.

Anyway, another quote on the monkey, I have a feeling it will get a PRE-EVO not an evo... Because we all thought that Hihidaruma was gonna evolve when he pre-evolved into a Potato.

I think Nintendo got lazy creating Yanappu. It looks they take Aipom, change the tail and the arms, put minor designs, and stuck a broccoli on it's head.

Wow that does look like Aipom a lot. Here's to hoping its evolution shakes it up a little bit, but at least its a Grass-type that is not based off of a dinosaur or a plant!

this pokemon will never make it on my team unless it's evolutions:
a. Have Really high stats (in general)
b. look awsome

I don't see why people hate this guy. Yeah, he's cute. A lot of Pokemon are (possibly to lure girls into the franchise). But some Pokemon are tough-looking. He may look like Aipom, but this guy is another Pokemon. There are a lot of Pokemon that get bashed because of similarity (aka Chimchar getting bashed for the "Char" in his name and the "flame tail"). I will most definitely catch this Pokemon for the hey of it, but I'm not sure if I'll use it. (Not a huge Grass Pokemon fan.)
