I know this isn't a "Battle me!" or "Trade with me!" thing, but I want to know this: what is your motivation to train up a competitive team?

I have been lacking in the motivation department, and thus, I have not worked on my team a ton.

My motivation recently has been "Oh man, if I get together a good team then I can go to San Diego next year!".

Hey, anything's possible!

My motivation has always been to be renowned as one of Victory Road's top battlers.
Thankfully, I'm starting to establish this reputation, but I still need some improvements.

Well, I'll never win, so I can make myself feel better by receiving and realizing potential.

Oh man, I need so much motivation I don't even know where to begin. I want to train up a competitive team so bad, but I just never get around to doing it. I did at one point, but it never made any sense, and I actually participated in the 09 VGC with it. Bad idea. I just wish I could force myself to train and battle. The battling part is fine, it's the training part, and actually scoring a win. This'll sound stupid, but I feel like I didn't try hard enough if I lost, and all that effort was worth nothing. It frustrates me so much that I just quit and go play something else and forget about it for a while. Then, I'll get excited again and try, and the process repeats itself. And, to add onto that, it makes me suspicious almost always against a opponent, because you'll never know if they cheated you out of that win or not.

Edit: I have the battle video of the vgc, let me post it as show you exactly what I mean.

I have no motivation. When I battle I throw together whatever Pokemon I have with me at the time. All the EV and IV crud's too complicated for me.

My motivation: "I need to train my Pokemon so I can take down my friend's set of Lv. 100 Ledgendaries."
