Pokémon Black and White → How do you think Luvdisc will evolve into Mamanbo?

In previous games, later-invented evolutions usually have a different process to evolve, like through friendship or level up in a certain place. If they put HM Dive back in, Luvdisc could level up under sea then evolve? What do you think?

It's unconfirmed yes, but really. It looks almost exactly like Luvdisc, but bigger with some extra bells and whistles. It's pretty safe to say it's an evo if you ask me.

If it turns out to be a level up with a move evolution, I have a feeling it will be something like Attract, Captivate, Charm, etc. to evolve it.

I think it'll evolve when it learns heart stamp, IF it learns heart stamp.

I think it will evolve by being leveled up on Valentine's Day.

Only problem is that people could just change the calendar on their DS to make it evolve. Admit it, we've all changed our times and dates to get stuff in Pokemon games at some point lol

Well think, what else could be related to. GL, great idea! Sergui, that gimic only works for the time. The game knows when you've changed the date (I wish it didn't lol)

Another new pokemon or it's just an unevolved pokemon.

We haven't seen te front yet and its name isn't simular to luvdisc's japanese name.

Magikarp and Gyarados don't sound at all alike. Neither do Chincou and Lantern, or Lileep and Cradily, etc. etc. etc.

Truthfully I think luvdisc will evolve plainly through reaching a certain level.

Yeah but in other games Luvdisc doesn't evolve through level, and now magicly he evolves at Lvl 35???

Nah, anyway a pokemon evo created in a different generation usually evolves by freindship or a trade with item or something like that. A good example is Porygon-Z. Porygon2 won't evolve by level, only by trade with dubios disk.
:wooguru: vs

Maybe it might evolve in a certain place, a place under the water or something.

I'm assuming it will evolve either with a move or an item, the valentines day thing practically require cheating.

I just wonder how we're going to catch it. Are we really going to have to wait until after beating the game to get a gen V pokemon?

EDIT: huh. someone delete this.

All the ideas in this thread are very creative but, knowing Game Freak, it'll probably be "Give Heart Scale, Trade".

I very much dislike trade evolutions and location evolutions.
But I agree with you. They'll probably do something to that effect. I think they should just have new forms evolve by level up. Luvdisc couldn't evolve in the past, but maybe now it should. Isn't that how evolution works, anyway? Over time, old things turn into new things that they weren't before. That's my two cents.

How's this?

Luvdisc must be infatuated. After that, you have X amount of time to raise it to a certain level (lets say, 35). After X time is up, Luvdisc must become infatuated again to begin evolution.

Example:

1-Luvdisc becomes infatuated at level 34. It has 1 hour to raise its level. If Luvdisc does not, it does not evolve.

2-Luvdisc is raised to level 35. It needs to become infatuated and raise its level to evolve.

Just thinking of new evolution ideas here

Anyway, what I want to know is: How are Probopass, Magnezone, Leafeon and Glaceon going to evolve in Gen 5?

It will be like HGSS... no wait, you can't trade to diamond or pearl can you!
Maybe after game completion theres a boat to take you to Sinnoh?
I think the Valentine idea would actully make it very hard to evolve Luvdisc. It's a great idea, but I would take an extremely long time.

You know how there's a way to change Deoxys' forms in Gen IV? They'll do something like that: Put areas in the game where you can evolve them. So there'll be a forest where Leafeon will evolve, there'll be a snowy place for Glaceon to evolve, etc.

Late response but I think it'll either be a level evolution, maybe 25-35 range, or a water stone evolution. Possibly even one where you have to transfer it while it holds something.
Again I'm late to the party. :c

I doubt it. I think to get them, you just transfer them in thier evolved forms.

Had a new idea anyway, it should level up with high friendship. It works, doesn't it?

Heart Stone? I doubt that anyway. A new idea anyway, Luvdisc must be caught in dream world and its speacilk ability could be Healing Heart. Maybe it evolves by leveling up with that ability.

Maybe it has to be caught by a heal ball because Mamanbo is called the "Nursing Pokemon" Or maybe it has to learn a healing move like Refresh or Aqua ring or some completely new move like "Healing rain" or something.

The Heal Ball thing could be hard to work with, since that essentially means any Luvdisc that you breed could never evolve.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Mamanbou can be caught in the wild, and to breed it must hold Heart Incense or Love Incense. Because only Gen V pokemon can be found pre-nat dex. I just thought of something that could revive my idea! Sometimes breeding passes down abilities

Hmmm that actually makes a great deal of sense. Plus, said Incense would only be obtainable in a location only accessible once you have the National Dex (like the Battle Zone in D/P/Pt.)
