July 31, 2010 is the predicted date to completely move from VPS.NET to HiVelocity hosting. During this time, the site may be inaccessible or appear down for up to 24 hours from when we update DNS records. Victory Road will be the first to have its records updated and will be the primary concentration of resuming online status. Additional sites, including Floatzel.Net and Crystal Islands, will follow immediately after, and then all of the other sites.

To all hosted sites: expect an e-mail with your new DNS information. You will need to update it to keep your site running. THERE IS A CHANCE YOUR SITE WILL BE OFFLINE FOR MORE THAN 24 HOURS. If your site is still not online only by August 2, please send me an e-mail stating such.

One day isn't too long to wait for a better server. Doesn't this mean that there will be a faster CPU, more space and stuff? I think that's what you said a while ago...

Don't worry guys, we are getting our own server fully dedicated to the forum, it will be MUCH better.

*digs up stuff Cat said from MSN archive*
"At almost $100 a month, it's time to move to a fully dedicated machine
And get my money's worth finally!
With a 10 GHz CPU"

lscpu

Architecture: x86_64
CPU(s): 4
Thread(s) per core: 1
Core(s) per socket: 4
CPU socket(s): 1
NUMA node(s): 1
Vendor ID: GenuineIntel
CPU family: 6
Model: 23
Stepping: 10
CPU MHz: 2000.000
Virtualization: VT-x
L1d cache: 32K
L1i cache: 32K
L2 cache: 2048K

2000mhz = 2ghz
2ghz X4 cores = 8ghz
EDIT as cat said below its closer to 9 because server is not under load so it auto underclocks

also

df -h

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda7 452G 41G 388G 10% /

yeah we got room now.

hdparm -tT /dev/sda

/dev/sda:
Timing cached reads: 2624 MB in 2.00 seconds = 1312.25 MB/sec
Timing buffered disk reads: 334 MB in 3.00 seconds = 111.22 MB/sec

Also we now have a unlimited bandwidth line.

Normally when I hear that a CPU is so many GHz, I think they're talking about a single core. So that server isn't that great.

Mkay, Mr. Party Pooper.

I shall be bored too, especially since i'm gonna be leaving for a couple of days either tomorrow or the day after. Good thing the chat should be up still via the program a little bit after the move start.
