I'd like to know if there are others with ideas for a spinoff. I'd like to see what you guys think would be good if your ideas were spinoffs.

I'm curious as to what kind of spinoff you guys think would be good for the Pokemon anime.

I'm for a spinoff with a completely different approach to Pokemon. I'm more of a thinker than a fighter, so naturally, I want to see more logic, problem solving, adventure, Poke-powers used in situations other than battle, and maybe some stealth (For those who have played Thief: The Dark Project).

Also, more talking pokemon! That would be nice to see.

Spoiler Alert:
My fanfiction "Lucario and the 10 Ordeals" is a great example of what I would like to see as a spinoff.

I think it would be like the anime. The same style as the games (8 gyms and whatnot) but have a lot of sidequests, and a lot more Team Rocket. It could make good use of the touch-screen and microphone for the side-quests!

Err, this is for the anime, not the games.

Touché. Well... I'm sorry. Didn't notice. And I have nothing to contribute to the anime. Might as well delete that post then...

Something I would like to see would be Ash and friends going through something Pokemon Stadium related.

You know, certain rules and clauses. Certain Pokemon are banned. Different types of tournaments only allow certain Pokemon.

Stuff like that.

Yea, I would like to see a mystery dungeon series. Not just one episode that is similar to the game.

And also:

You play as Red and after you beat Brock and Misty, they follow you around in your adventures.

Wait... that's video game.

I honestly don't even think the anime's good, so I would like to see new approach. The show can be more hardcore. It should also have more realistic situations. Voice acting NEEDS to be improved.

I would love to see something that is more closely related to the games. Somewhat like the Pokemon Adventures manga, but basically anime form.

Oh, and something where magnemites, magnetons, and Magnezones don't go down with one 'not very effective' hit, especially from a piplup's whirlpool attack... (see Giratina and the Sky warrior)

I would love to see a Pokemon Ranger spin-off anime series that follows the games. All of the characters in each of the games were so real, I'm sure that a series could be built around them on their own. Maybe they will build on the Tracks of Light shorts that aired in Japan (will there be more and will we ever see those in English?)

I originally wanted a continuty reboot for the Black and White anime, with a new main character, you can thank the idiotic executives for keeping Ash as the main character for the new series, also, no matter how good, how dark, or how mature the plot of the new games are, the anime will try it's hardest to screw it up.......

I would like to see a proper spinoff of one of the games like a Ranger anime or Mystery Dungeon anime, especially the latter, so if they make a third Mystery Dungeon game with Gen 5 Pokemon (Stop saying that Explorers of Sky is PMD3, It's just a third version like Platinum is), I would like to see a full blown anime series of PMD and not just a one-shot special of the games beginning. It could air right after the main anime...........

Mystery Dungeon! I think they already have a Japanese anime like that. We need one though.

Honestly, I want to see an actual Pokemon anime, revolving not around Ash and his group of goofballs, but of a slew of trainers. Because of Ash's limitations regarding location, age, gender, and other factors such as his selected Pokemon team, we have only so many episodes one can write.

I say, instead of "Solve-the-problems-of-some-random-stranger of the day", how about a "Follow a new trainer every day"? Ash hasn't been to a lot of locations for a long time. When was the last time he spent a considerable amount of time in Kanto, or Johto? Plus, one can only take so many Ash + Pikachu = Thunderbolt equations.

tl;dr moar trainers, less Ash.

But that's how Ash solves all his problems!

But I agree with your idea... mostly.
Instead of following a new trainer every episode, it should follow a trainer for 3 or 4 episodes then switch trainers.

Agreed, something that is darker and more mature instead of this unrealistic childish crap, I mean seriously, despite the fact that it's fictional, it needs to have a bit more "realism", with things such as a character dying or something, the Mystery Dungeon games prove that Pokemon CAN appeal to older audiences, they just choose not to........

By the looks of it, Black and White seem to be heading towards an older audience, especially since most of the people who bought HG/SS were teens and adults who grew up with the series, which is what Nintendo apparently DOESN'T want, and that is older people buying the games, even if it's for their children or friends or siblings etc. they just don't want adults to buy the games, only kids, this explains why the anime is so childish, because the executives don't want teens or adults to play their games or watch their show, only kids. Also, if you ever compared the anime to the games (or better yet, the manga), you will have noticed that the anime has royally screwed up the plot, with B/W apparently being aimed towards older fans, I will only say this: No matter how good, how dark, or how mature the plot of the new games are, the anime will try it's hardest to screw it up.

They should make a spinoff with Red or Leaf in it. But considering how they're also quite major characters, i wouldnt mind watching an entirely new main series with them.
