Okay, since I never saw this thread, I didn't know it existed...
Anyways, the 2010 World Cup kicks off tomorrow (June 11th, 2010) with the following matches:
-South Africa vs Mexico (16:00, GMT +2) in Johannesburg.
-Uruguay vs France (20:30, GMT +2) in Cape Town.
Who do you think will win from the two matches? Let's start the discussion!
More results:
Serbia 0:1 Ghana
I'm quite surprised France tied with Uruguay and England tied with USA. I expected the countries in bold to win. Also, the Nigerian goalkeeper was just amazing; he kept on pissing Messi off by defending the goal from his kicks.
I cheer for Brazil, Spain and England this World Cup. England not as much as the others though.

I am only happy that Villa, one of my favorite players took Spain, my favorite team along with Brazil, to the track again after their unexpected loss.
The next match is Germany vs. Serbia. Although I hate it, but I think Germany will win. |

Yesterday's match was amazing. Spain ended up victorious, while it was a tie between Portugal & Brazil.
I am glad that my favorite teams; Spain & Brazil are in the top 16.
Today's matches are USA vs. Ghana & Uruguay vs. S. Korea.
I expect USA & Uruguay to win.

I just finished watching the Japan vs. Uruguay game...Japan lost! NO! T_T
As Japan being a large part of my geneology, I am very upset!
Why the sent a frakin' DEFENDER to do the penalty kick, I have no friggin' clue! (>_<*)""/"" GRAHHH! ANGER! JAPAN STILL COULD HAVE WON!!!
Both US AND JAPAN are out now! I honestly don't see a point to be excited as much about this cup...*sadness*

I'm really very excited because of Germany's impressive victory over England and Spain's victory over Potugal. Germany is doing amazing so far, Spain could use some improvements and Brazil is playing good, but not over-the-top. I still support Germany, Brazil and Spain, and I hope they do well in the quarter finals. The match between Germany and Argentina is going to be epic, or at least I hope so.
Here are what I predict the semi-finalists to be:
-Brazil
-Ghana
-Spain
-Germany
Heck. The real World Cup finally started for me now.
Brazil lost against Netherlands? What a shock! I didn't expect that at all.

YESSSS!!!!! GERMANY 4:0!!!!!! Being in Berlin right after Germany wins is so awesome. I went with friends to a restaurant to watch the game and it was so fun!

At last! Spain won yesterday. The next match is going to be deadly; Germany vs. Spain! Go Spain!

Spain struggled against Paraguay, surprisingly - I expected a higher score.
Although I like both teams, I think I'm going with Germany over Spain because they've been playing better throughout the world cup. If either of them loses, I won't feel bad. Nevertheless, I hope Germany wins |
As disappointing as it is, Germany lost to Spain by a score of 0-1. The German team didn't play as great as it did in the rest of the World Cup. However, I'm not sad that Spain won because I originally cheer for it. Plus, it played WAY better than Germany in the match, so they definitely deserved to win.
I hope Spain defeats Netherlands and gets the cup.
Congratulations to Spain for winning the World Cup! Their performance, in my opinion, was amazing and they deserved this victory! I'm glad I supported them since the beginning, and I hope they maintain their high standards to reach even greater heights in the future. On a different note, my top 3 players in this World Cup were Casillas, David Villa and Thomas Muller. I'm going to miss the atmosphere of the World Cup and the excitement associated with it. It was so much fun.
