So I decided to download VRC. The download worked fine, but when I try to run it, it says this:

Is that Windows 98, or just the 98 theme? VRC is probably not programmed to work with old OSes.

I'm using XP, just with the Windows Classic theme.

And keep in mind that my Internet blocks every kind of live chat, except for the kind that VR uses.

I don't know if you mean encryption type, browser, or access point, so I'll answer all three.
Encryption type: WIP (not to be confused with WEP)
Browser: Internet Explorer 8
Access point (even though this shouldn't make a difference): Apple AirPort Express

That wouldn't happen to be a Wine error... would it? (if you don't know what I'm talking about, then don't worry about it cause its not the issue.)

He's running XP on his mac.

What internet carrier are you using, is what I meant.

No, I'm running XP on my PC, not my Mac.

And I'm using RoadRunner (not RR Turbo).

I'm assuming you are using the wrong version of a DLL (ironically easy to debug in Wine). This is relatively common among different versions of operating systems: what service pack of WinXP are you using?

Service Pack.... not version. (SP1,SP2,SP3?)

Right click on "My Computer" and select Properties to find out.
