I've been having a problem for like a week that dosen't allow me to use VR on any browser, any internet connection, etc, etc. I can only go here through proxies, so forgive me for doing that, but it's the only way I can. I also can't access the chat ether.

Maybe this is more of a computer problem, but I don't really know where else to put it.

I try to go on Chrome, I get: Oops! Cannot find error, IE: Cannot Display webpage, and I don't use firefox but I'll get it if it helps. I also try on my Wii's internet channel as well, but to no avail. I can only access it though my living room computer. I tried taking the ethernet cable from my xbox (that's wired to the working connection) and plugging it in, occasionally it may help, but I do want to play on live.

It really makes me sad faec and I would apprectiate help in any form possible. So, I'll be using proxies to browse VR until I get a soloution. ;_; Help.

- Ash

EDIT: Msn and Yahoo IM are the best way to contact, please. gallade50 yahoo, ryanxboxlive3 for msn. kthnxbai

EDIT MORE: I can visit firefox, but I still want to use chrome and I can't connect with the chat executable.

Try safe mode.

Shutdown your pc
push f8 repetedly until you see the windows boot loader
arrow down to safe mode with networking.
if it works you have a virus or driver issue.

if it completely stops working or says proxy error you most likely have a virus that is steeling your logons and stuff.

Works on firefox fine. I still like chrome, but it'll do. I'll try that though.

It is most likely a virus or otherwise. Safe mode could help (as it may stop the virus), but that's still really annoying to use

I would recommend doing a malware scan first. Then check if you have a firewall which could be causing it.

Even firefox stopped doing it, so I had to go back to proxy. I'll do it when I get up in the morning and update with results.

It works perfectly in safe mode (with networking )

So if I go back to normal windows, will it work fine?

No - it hasn't changed anything. I strongly suspect it is a virus, this is a good (free) tool that should help clean it:

Okay, thanks. It's working normally, but I'll go ahead and get that software just to be safe.

Well, was. It's doing it again. A threat was detected when I opened firefox, so had to do proxies....again. I'm scanning for more, but I don't think I'll ever be able to use Victory Road normally. :/

Another relly easy way to disable most crap where
go to run
type msconfig
go to startup tab
disable everything
(even stuff you THINK you need like java adobe ipodsync)
they will start when you need them they don't need a startup.

Ever tried manually going into you hard drive? And as I also suspect it's probably a virus hitting the exact victoryroad URL. It is not something on the site itself but a virus in your own computer. It is a bit odd tho. Keep us updated!

James, me and freeze determined the problem last night by im: My neighbor is blocking anything from victory road's servers. This includes Floatzel.net, Crystal Islands, etc. And I don't know why.

There isn't a absolute solution, other then using my own wired connection which I share with my 360. Then it works fine. :/

I don't feel very comfortable telling them I've been using their wi-fi for like 5 months.

For future reference or whatever, this is the server's URL:

http://98.158.180.166/

The following domains are served with it:
floatzel.net
victoryroad.net
crystal-islands.com
buizel.net

I believe Cat's super secret URL is also served with it, but I have never checked.

Of the 20-some Wi-Fi networks within my Netbook's range, 0 are unsecured. Most are WPA, but there are 5 or 6 with WEP.
