I say Super Mario Galaxy 2. Because of it being a updated sequel and Yoshi.

Well I havn't got it yet, but if its true they say its more difficult, AND it has yushees, then yea, I choose 2~! =w= For now that is~! =3 Im hoping for more interesting bosses. Seriously, the bowser fights were way too similar me thinks. :< But there both awesome game. =w=

Seeing as how this game won't be out for two more days...

Well, the sequel's got everything the first game had and more:

-Inclusion of fruit Yoshis, a la Sunshine
-Cosmic Guide, a reinvention of New SMB Wii's Super Guide
-Overall updates
-New overworld map
-SMG's co-op was modified for SMG2 so that the second player can now collect coins and attack enemies instead of simply firing Star Bits

So I believe, unless you're a person with serious issues (SMS haters, anyone? Just because it was different doesn't mean it completely sucked) then SMG 2 would be better.

I never played Sunshine but I'm not one do hate a game for being different.

I'm going to chose Galaxy 2 for having Yoshi in it, I love that guy.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 for pretty much all of the reasons Lite mentioned. I mean, it is an UPDATED second part or sequel of Super Mario Galaxy 1. Plus, Yoshi is in it and the co-op mode is much better.

Haven't played. Can't say.

Well, the first one had some problems that are surely to be fixed in SMG2. The most aggravating one to me is after you beat Bowser, save Peach, etc, she still sends you the "Help Me!" letters.

And yes, with Yoshi and the enhanced co-op mode, SMG2 is going to be better.

I say this thread should be locked until Sunday, but SMG2 looks all around better. I mean, SM64 LEVELS. OHMAHGAWD.

Yeah, I'm a bit late to the party, but I gotta say that Super Mario Galaxy 2 has loads of extra features on top of its predecessor. With new Mario power-ups, more awesome levels, the inclusion of Yoshi and a lot more, I find no reason whatsoever for SMG1 to be better than SMG2.
