Hi. I'm a new guy, obviously. I guess it'd be appropriate for me to explain why I'm here.
Way back when pokemon first started, I was pretty darn good at it; I won the majority of the time against my friends. Of course, the inevitable happened: they grew up and their priorities changed. I stuck with it, though, due in part to this adorable little thing: 
. The other part was the idea of taking these cute little things and making them as powerful as possible. I'd pretty much been content with slaughtering the in-game opponents--until recently when battled Red on my Heart Gold. All of my pokemon were at level 70--half of them not fully evolved--and no full restores, hyper potions, etc to fall back on. I felt pretty proud at that moment, but then I wondered how it would've been different if a human had been behind Red's controls instead of a computer. Since there's no one I can go to in person, I found this place hoping to find some people that would be willing to let me find out of I could even step foot into a competitive battle.
So, that's that. Sorry about writing a novel.

On the contrary: I expect to lose quite frequently, if not constantly. At least, that is, until I can get a grasp for the meta game. I've never battled against someone that has any idea of the underlying mechanics of the game, but I know a battle against someone who knows what they're doing will be nothing less than intense.
