did you ever go to a flea market as a kid and buy a pokemon hack, thinking it was some rare and new pokemon game then find out it was a hack?

Nope...What fleamarkets are you going to? I've never heard of one sold in a fleamarket before.

I wish I would have gotten something like this. I've never seen anything of the sort in the few times I've been to flea markets.

Oh you lucky piece of [bleep]!
But seriously, no I haven't.

The question here is, who would be selling Pokemon hacks in such a public place? Isn't that illegal or something?

And plus, you could probably find a Pokemon Hack somewhere on the internet in ROM form.

I think owning the real game is enough.

Unfortunately, I've never been to a Flea Market. If I did go, I doubt there would be Pokemon Hacks there in game cartridges.

Got a shiny heatran with a nice hidden power.
Until kazam pointed out that heatrans can't be bred, which mine happened to be.
So hax was called. :V

No actually hacked game though.
Except maybe rom ones. =w=

I actually have dealt with hacks! XD

I was in a market in Thailand, and one stall had Pokemon games. I remember it now...

Prof. Kyoroudhrnnnn gave you a Chikoorita!

Rattata used Fork!

XD The first part I made up, but the second part with using Fork is all real! Those were god-awful hacks of Gold and Silver, and I actually wanted one as the stupid kid I was. Thanks for letting me remember this again.

I know foriegn countries try to pass off ROM hacks as legitimate carts. Even the ROM hack makers know that this is illegal, and they state that if you paid for this game you should get your money back or get rid of the cartridge.

My sister bought a hack of Silver off eBay. We got Silver and Crystal from some lady for 6$. We didn't even buy it off eBay really, she was close so we offered her 6$ and she accepted and we went and picked it up. Crystal works fine. Silver, well its a lost cause. EVERYTHING in that game is gibberish.

I have seen a hack at a GameStop before. The employees there must have been complete idiots not to know it wasn't a real game. There were also bootlegs in the display case.

Wow Cat, that GameStop was extremely professional. Guess it doesn't matter to them what's real, fake or illegal.

Once, ages ago, my brother wanted Gold, so we went to GAME (a REAL, ACTUAL Video Game retailer) and they had a basket of Gameboy games there. So my brother searched through, and found Gold. It had a black cartridge, and said Pocket Monsters on the front (Never seen outside of Japan). When he played it, it was obviously a hack. The text was big and there were lots of gramatical errors. The items had weird names, and the Pokemon names were limited to 5 characters (Hinting that it was just a poorly translated Japanese version). It sucked. We sent it through the washing machine a few times.

Fleamarkets don't exist in the UK. Unless you play Animal Crossing.

I know what GAME is.

What about boot sales? (For those who don't know, "boot" is the British word for the trunk of a car.)

I got a pirated firered. I didn't know it was until 1. it wouldn't connect with my Pokemon XD for gc, and 2. I compared it to a friend that bought it new, and the stickers were different. I probably paid around 25$ for it too. The leafgreen was probably pirated too.
