Today's Pokémon Sunday episode revealed video of the new battle style: animated battle sprites, moving camera, and Zoroark's new Illusion ability in action. It also reveals the new Trainer Battle music.

Fangasmed on the many, MANY repeat threads about this, so...

I REALLY like the Zoroark battle theme, the Starter battle music is good aswell. I love the panning camera, and if Rain/Sun is animated the whole battle instead of every end of a turn, instead of it saying "It's raining.", that'd be awesome AND save time. Oh, and if there are animations for when a Pokemon is asleep/paralyzed/frozen/etc. that'd rule.

What Jad said. Times several million. And then some.

Also, the video with Zoroark proves that he does not become the Pokemon he's mimicking. He was weak to Aura sphere, which means he retained his Dark-type nature. I think Illusion is meant to cause opponents to waste at least one chance to use a super-effective move (if they have it) while Zoroark either sets up a play or hammers them back.

I see you remembered to plug in the sound while recording this time.

Anyway, those are pretty good videos.

@ NightShade Darkrai:

Exactly. Zoroark`s ability is called "Illusion" because it isn`t a true transformation, it`s a type of deceit. With the move "Transform" the Pokemon changes it`s stats, except for HP, and type to match the Pokemon it transforms into, however, it`s name stays the same. It seems Zoroark`s ability may work oppositely, since it`s type remains Dark, yet, the characters for it`s name change to those for "Entei" in the video. In double battles, it might end up being used to make players attack the wrong Pokemon by accident, or other effects.

Either way, it seems like a really interesting ability.

Right. I was getting annoyed at all the people who thought Zoroark's ability was just a free Transformation, so I wanted to point it out.

That double battle idea is pretty neat. It would be really awesome if there was some way for Zoroark to swap places with an opponent's pokemon in a double battle. He could mooch off of team stat boosts while attacking his enemy, and your opponent wouldn't notice a thing, not immediately anyway.

Imagine having to search for a roaming pokemon that transforms into other pokemon.

But yea, I hope he doesn't become uber. His ability sounds like it'd be fun online~!

You could just battle with him for fun, outside of competetive battling.

Actually the type remains Dark-type.See,when Raikou used Aura Sphere on Zoroark, disguised as Entei,it says 'It's super effective'.

hmmm
Can anyone see what the levels are for raikou and zoroark? I can't make it out.

But, I couldn't help but notice a super effective auro sphere from raikou only did around 3/5ths. Leading me to believe zoroark might be somewhat special defense bulky. =w=

Zoroark: Lv.25
Raikou: Lv.30

Sp.Def bulky it is...but I guess that's a downfall since most moves that are super effective to it are Physical.

Hmm. Maybe he has high hp, or good defense too? Maybe zoroark is actually a defensive pokemon. o3o

You know how we've got a Zoroark event?
...How come the battle system looks different? I thought the event was for HG/SS to get Zoroark?

No, in Japan, they're having a movie event where you get a shiny legendary beast via HGSS. However, when you trade the shiny beast from HGSS to a copy of B/W, the Zoroark event is activated(just not fully revealed how in B/W precisely).

Oh, so you don't get a zoroark in HG/SS. You just have to trade the shiny beasts for a zoroark to B/W. I see.XD
