Now you may know I am not actually lite iron, so this is technically my guide.

Okay first. Weaken it and status prz, slp are good. If you have a good pokemans with hypnosis, use it. The more turns they spend alseep the less they can damage you. From personal experience, sleep is better than paralysis.
For roamers, you should use ghost type, with block mean look ect.

Legendary dogs, have a meanlooker with taunt and preferrably hypnosis.

You might wanna false swipe, also you could use a quick claw for first mean look.

After the following pre requisites are met, lets talk ball selection.

Pokéballs.

Those are the only ball that you need.

If you choose any other ball, I lose all respect for you. Unless it is a premier ball.

You can ask lite. He followed my instructions and caught a Ho-Oh in the first pokeball.

There's nothing wrong with using a different ball though. Dusk Balls shorten the time and allow for less annoyance when you're doing IV calculation.

Legendaries should be challenges to be sure, but every single legendary's catch rate is 3. A Weedle's is 252 or something close to that. I think using a better ball is fine.

Me and lite personally used a snorlax for raikou and entei. Snorlax + quick claw + block and yawn

Latios was more complicated. I got it to be paralyzed, and then used snorlax with block, since of paralysis's effect on speed.

Well this was Lite's game Of course the latios, raikou and Entei, suicine, ho-oh, groudon, suicune, zapdos, moltres, and articuno were all caught with pokeballs.

This thread is weird considering you posted it, yet it's called Lite's guide.
Plus, PokéBalls suck unless you have a lot of luck...
Just use Dusk Balls and catch at night or in a cave, or if it's not in those conditions, Ultra Balls are okay as well.

This is just Soda's guide to getting as much hax as possible when catching legends. Named after me because I used this guide to catch a majority of HGSS legends in Poke Balls.

Gengar can do majority of the moves recommended here. Except false swipe.

Well. The thing is....... Ash Ketchum catches all or the majority of his pokemans in pokeballs. ( I don't keep up much with the anime) Catching it in anything other than a poke or premier ball is basically saying you are a bigger sissy when it comes to catching pokemon than ash ketchum is.

In the anime, all Poke Balls have the same catch rate.

See, the flaw in your logic is that if you're going on a Poke Ball only run, it's more of a hax-reliant method. Normally, one stocks up on Timers, Dusks, Ultras, and Quicks when on a legend hunt.

If I may offer a suggestion: For Mewtwo, use your weakest dark type pokemon. Mewtwo can do literally nothing against it.

I checked out Mewtwo's moves, and boy is that disappointing. I mean, no Psychic or Swift to make your life harder? They dropped the ball on him because he is incredibly easy to wall.

And Dusk/Timer balls are fine. The chances are only increased a little, but it can save you time catching them. No one's a sissy for using them.

This seems like a bizarre guide to catching legendaries, considering you are pretty much dissuading people from using a Pokeball that would actually make things much easier.

Also, bringing up the anime to defend in-game arguments is never a good idea, since the anime isn't based on mechanics that are programmedinto the game.

Man, you could make a whole extra forum talking about the differences between the anime and actual gameplay.

You see, the thing about Ash using Pokeballs in the anime is:
It's not up to the Pokeball's catch rate whether or not it catches the Pokemon, it's the story creators!!!

Ash could throw a Pokeball at a trainers Pokemon and if the story writers felt like it, the trainer's Pokemon would be caught!

I should be making a video of catching the GSC runners.
