What will it's weakness and resistances be? What will its moves be like? What types will it be paired to?

My guess is that if liGHt becomes a type, it will be weak to or resist dark and ghost, and be weak to bug, and that dark will be weak to it.

I think that a liGHt/dark type pokemon would be an interesting legendary, or at least interesting pokemon in general.

Didn't Nintendo confirm there would be no Light-type in the games? I remember them saying something about trying not to get any Light-types in the game...

I think that it would beat Dark and Ghost, and it wouldn't do much to the Fire and Grass types. OOOH! I know! POISON would be good against it! The Poison type is terrible offensively, so this could put it back in place. Dragon would also be good against it, I sink.

I like the idea of dark and light being 2 opposing types that are both effective and weak against the other.

I also like the idea of electric and light being a lose-lose. They both are weak against the other.

Lite Type would be the most broken type ever, you guys. They won't put it in the games, I'm too epic. It'll end up breaking the fighting system.

A Light type should be x2 effective against Ghost and Dark. It'll at least fix the Sableye/Spiritomb thing.

well if you think about the whole "triangle" thing with the starters then they should add a shadow type. light > dark> shadow >light

i wouldnt want to be another typing. i mean it would kill the main game and metagame. personally the types we have now are just fine with me

I'd actually enjoy a new type to shake things up, and taking somewhat from others here's what I think it's strengths/weakness would be:

-Light-type moves vs. Dark, Psychic, Dragon, Ghost, Water, and Ice would be super effective.

-Light Moves vs. Electric, Fire, Grass(maybe a Light Absorb ability, where if a light-type move hits a grass Pokémon, they heal some HP), Ground, and Rock would be not very effective.

-Light-type Pokemon being hit by a Ghost wouldn't effect it.

-A Light-type Pokemon being hit by a Dark or Poison move would be super effective.

I don't think it would be game-shaking enough to make everyone fear Light-types and make them over or under powered, I think it would be a nice addition though. (and if you think that Light would be too overpowered by my type strength/weakness listings, then just pack a Houndoom and you'll beat any and all Light-types pretty easily.

I just find light type useless. I mean that I find Psychic more like light somehow.

Let me make this clear: Dark =/= evil in Pokemon. It, simply put, is just what would be "unfair" if Pokemon battling was a real sport. Pokemon have been established to be not good nor evil, just following what their trainer tells them to do. Light, therefore, is not likely to be a type.

But if it was, I'd go for literal light, i.e. Flash and similar. That would certainly throw a curveball at the Light-requesters. As for what it would do, I'd imagine it as being a mostly status- and stat-related type with little offensive moves because, really, how do you attack someone with light?

If light does become a type in the future pokemon games it world seem to ruin the strength and weakness balance. So, would that make dark good or bad against light?

I highly doubt they will make a "light" type but I would have to say that if there was a light type, it would probably be weak to dark or ghost.

A light type might have a weakness in dark types.

I consider Psychic to be Light type. There doesn't need to be light type again.

No weaknesses is all those guys have going for them. To take that away will ruin them.
