QUICK QUESTION - Should this be in the music, art, and writing section? Move it if that's where it belongs.

I dedicate this thread to Lite.

Use this thread to discuss music, specific genres of music, or just music in general. Or you can recommend songs to others, or tell us your favorite things about music.

As for me, music is a big part of my life as I listen to it at least 1 hour a day. Most of that happens when I'm listening to music on the bus, on my way to school.

My favorite bands are Disturbed (FAVORITE <3), Avenged Sevenfold, System of a Down, and Linkin Park. I also listen to a lot of random songs that pop up on the radio. I also like to listen to music that is included in video games, so a lot of music that I listen to was introduced to me by games like Guitar Hero, Rock Band, or even Need For Speed.

The song I'm listening to right now is Hey Soul Sister by Train. I heard it on the radio one day and thought it was good, and now it;s one of my current favorites. I tend to let my music loop, and so I'll listen to a song for hours at a time.

Lots of the music I listen to usually comes off the radio. I'll just hear a random song and figure out what it is, and then I'll listen to it for a while.

Other songs I've listed to for a while include Seasons by the Veer Union and Decadence by Disturbed, as well as It's Not My Time by Three Doors Down. It's Not My Time was probably my favorite song for oh, I dunno. 6 months? O_O

Alright, well now that I've typed my wall of text, why don't you type yours? xD

I have varying tastes in music. I like lots of modern artists, most notably Lady Gaga (ok everyone I like her music shoot me), but I also like lesser known bands too, a very good one is Man Man. Their music is kinda strange, but very good in my opinion. Search "Rabbit Habits" on Youtube and see if you like it. ;O I also like video game sondtracks alot, and eat up remixes of songs I like (right now I'm impressed by Levus28's Banjo Kazooie Medley, including all the songs in Kazooie and Tooie.)

By the way, my music listening strategy is to listen to a song over and over again, thereby sucking the juice out of it.

Well that's my post.

LADY GAGA IS FREAKING EPIC <3

I also use your music listening strategy, haha.

I'm watching American Idol right now, by the way. So I guess that relates to music.

A thread dedicated to me?! AWESOME! I HAVE A CULT FOLLOWING NOW!

I listen to whatever new songs I've obtained. I recently bought AC/DC's album Black Ice, and I've been listening to it nonstop. It's a great album that goes back to AC/DC's rock 'n roll roots. One song on that album in particular has now moved onto my top list of songs.

Here is the song in question:

AC/DC: War Machine - Black Ice

It's got awesome riffs and lyrics that are reminiscent of the days of Dirty Deeds, and it references a character from Iron Man. Why I love this song is obvious.

^I might listen to it later, as I'm listening to Prequel to the Sequel by Between the Buried and Me right now.

SK, for future reference, click the YouTube/YouTubeWIDE buttons when you post a YouTube video onto the forum. The code looks like [ YOUTUBE ] videoidhere (NOT the URL, just the stuff after watch? [ /YOUTUBE ]

I don't usually listen to metal like this, but the beginning is freaking epic, and I happen to like the whole song.

I really prefer Rock and roll, and like a lot of the newer remixes coming out. Has anyone heard Shiny Toy Gun's remix of "Major Tom"? Absolutely epic!

Being bumped due to request, I suppose?

So, anyways, I ordered the AC/DC Iron Man 2 CD. It's basically the soundtrack for Iron Man 2. Most of the CD is comprised of every good AC/DC song save for Dirty Deeds.

I'm gonna be hatin' on all you gaiz from now on.
Kyuss. Kyuss. Kyuss. Also Rage Against the Machine. And Queens of the Stone Age. And Iron Maiden and System of a Down and Dethklok and video game music bands. And Primus and Nirvana and old Metallica. Please, listen to Kyuss before I eat a kitten.
I think most everything played by radio stations (the top 40 on shuffle, basically) is terrible. But seriously, listen to the album Blues for the Red Sun. Oh, and I also don't like AC/DC. But seriously, listen to the album. For serious. Pretty please? :3
Also, C tuning is the best guitar tuning to which to tune a guitar.
Also, this post is probably the worst post piexing has ever made. And that kid makes pretty terrible posts.

Piexing, you're pretty biased towards Josh Homme, aren't you?

Spoiler Alert:
inb4 he starts shipping LeeuwenXJohannes

Still, Homme IS epic. My favorite band is QotSA. My favorite album is Era Vulgaris. My favorite song is Turnin' on the Screw. I have an alternative rock band, and we covered Into the Hollow for our second album.

, shipping LeeuwenXJohannes. No, I'm not biased toward Josh Homme, I just like his music. And his taste in guitars. :3 But since we're naming favorite QOTSA albums, I'll say mine's a tie between their self-titled and Rated R.
One could also say I'm biased toward Tom Morello and Zack de la Rocha, but I'm on a Kyuss kick right now, I guess. I also like video game music bands. You guise should listen to Powerglove. They're amazing.

If you actually own a copy of their debut, you might just have a rare album.

It's too bad I don't. I think I'll just have to wait six million more years for the rerelease.

Ah, finally a thread to actually discuss music. Well, I have a wide range varying taste of music. I listen to Pop, Metal, Rock, Rap, Hip Hop and R&B, and Soul R&B. My favorite Metal or Rock bands would have to be Linkin Park, Disturbed and Breaking Benjamin. While I like a lot of others, those are just three I will list.

Now moving on to probably my favorite artist of all time, Michael Jackson. Reason being, he had over twenty songs that you could either like or name. I admired his work ethic. Think about it! The man was a singer, songwriter, record producer, composer, dancer, choreographer, actor, peace activist, businessman, and philanthropist. His instruments? Vocals, guitar, beatbox, piano, and drums. I do not have a favorite song made by him because I love so many of them. If I were to name five off the top I would say Thriller, Smooth Criminal, Remember The Time, The Way You Make Me Feel, and Billie Jean.

@Alakazamaster - Lady Gaga, not actually a bad artist. She isn't the best but she certainly isn't the worst. In my opinion, she actually has some good songs. And whether you like her or not, you have to respect her love for what she does and how she does it. She never changes how she does things in her videos or songs to make them what everyone else wants to hear. In my opinion, she has a high level of creativity and her creativity reminds me of Michael Jackson's creativity.

My favorite current artist in the Hip Hop and R&B section would have to be Usher, Trey Songz, Omarion, Eminem, and Drake. Two rappers I just cannot stand personally would have to be Jay-Z and Lil Wayne. While they have good songs, their voices irritate me. Especially Lil Wayne. But that is a different story ;P

Music some of you may not know about is music that is big where I live, (The DMV). We call it Go-Go or Gogo. If you would like to hear what Gogo sounds like, search up the bands I recommend - ABM, TOB, XIB, Reaction Band, and Renegade. Do I love Gogo, nope. I think it is okay but it cannot replace any other genre of music that I listen to.

And I guess this is my wall of text SK, so I will stop here before things worsen. ;P

EDIT: @Piexing - I can give Kyuss a listen. Wouldn't see why I wouldn't. Especially with the way you talk about them. ;P

Yeah, perhaps I shouldn't talk about them like that. If you do listen to them, you'll want to listen to Blues for the Red Sun first.
Also, I looked up Reaction Band and I don't like it at all. :3 On the subject of lesser known music genres, I'mma just leave this here. http://www.nationofskweee.com/

There is nothing wrong with talking about them.

About the whole "Reaction" thing, yeah... that is EXACTLY how I felt when I first listened to Gogo. Just dumb... the people aren't really singers or rappers for that matter but I just like the instruments and beats that are in them.

And by the time I post in this thread again, I will have listened to Kyuss - Blues for the Red Sun and will put what I think about them here. ;P

@piexing Wikipedia says that Billy Gibbons was not present for the recording of Era Vulgaris, but if you listen closely on the last bar of the third chorus of I'm Designer, you can hear a low, semi-robotic voice saying "I'm one of a kind" along with Josh. I'm not sure Wikipedia has their facts straight. Also, it'll be 5 trillion more years for the rerelease. And TWICE THAT CUBED till Kyuss says, "Hey, for (EDITED BY THE FORUM)stihs(EDITED BY THE FORUM) and giggles, let's reunite our band! The first time we hear one person cheer at a concert, we'll break up!"

Also, what do you gaiz think about skweee? Best genre ever? :3
