You get them randomly, It's a low chance though...

There is a 1 in a 8192 chance of finding a shiny,I believe.

Welcome! I am Alakazamaster, and I have the answer to your question...

The chance of finding a shiny in the wild is 1 in 8192, so finding them by sheer chance is quite lucky. There are two ways make things easier though...

1) Pokeradar. Build a long chain of Pokemon using the Pokeradar, and the chance of finding a shiny gets progressively better and better! Be sure to use lots of repels to avoid battling a random Pokemon!

2) Masuda Method. This is my favorite method. It involves breeding two Pokemon from different regional versions of a game. For example, a Male Japanese Alakazam and a Female American Jynx. When the baby is born, it will have a 1 in 2048 chance of being shiny! I love to use this method.
