If I were to install a 32-bit OS on a 64-bit computer, would it work?

No clue, I know there's certain programs that don't work on certain bit types, but not about whole computers. =|
Did some googling, and it seems that you'd lose RAM(there's a 4GB limit for 32-bit), so yes, it would work, you'd just have some limitations because you didn't install the more advanced version.

I should still do some further researching to see if there are any other problems, though. Thanks.

It would be bit-to-bit the exact same. Applications wouldn't know the difference, the operating system won't care, etc. There won't be a single 1 where a 0 should be or vice-versa. This is because 64-bit processors are capable of running in 32-bit mode (or I think even 16-bit mode).

All the same, most modern operating systems will be faster and have fewer limitations on 64-bit. For instance, you won't die on the 32-bit Epoch. There can be some application limits on 64-bit, though. Windows can emulate 32-bit on 64-bit, though I don't think either Mac or Linux can (doesn't matter that much, really).

Yes ,it can work. I used to install Windows XP 64bit to use, but it seems that it can't works as well as it was in 32bit OS.

Thanks, but I already got all the information I need, and it's not good to necro an old thread.
