Before the game comes out, I would like to see what got you excited about SMG2! I was excited that Mario has a new form! (Rock suit)

1. The original Mario Galaxy was one of the most epic games I have played.
2. They added Yoshi.

Well, there are lots of new levels and remixes of music (according to ONM). But most importantly... there's a Yoshi!

I thought that the original Galaxy was a great concept that still had a lot of potential, and I was very pleased to see that more of that potential is being used.

Dude. You can defy the laws of physics. Again. There's no reason NOT to buy it. Hell, even I scrapped enough money together for it.

Ooooh you mean the 4 levels out of the entire game you can play as yoshi? ,:3

They advertise the heck outta including yoshis in mario games, but hes hardly ever utilized ya know? =w= Or atleast not as much as I want. Im talking about the opportunity to get a yoshi every level, or him as a playable character....Thats not a Mario sports/kart game. :V

Char, why do you think an addition to one game will automatically satisfy everyone? New SMB Wii and SMG 2 are two entirely different ballgames. New SMB Wii is an easy, simple 2-D platformer with the only goal being to get to the finish. SMG 2 is a complex, 3-D adventure platformer that basically takes the laws of physics in the gaming world, eats them, tears them to shreds, then makes a whole new, more awesome and unique set of laws. How Yoshi can be used in one circumstance (a sidescroller where you basically can only do one thing in one direction) and in another (a three dimensional Einstein-pleaser where you can basically do anything) defines things in different ways.

Yes, but they are both platformers at heart still. (and mario games) Very similar games. : P

Can you please answer this: Why do people get Pokémon games (the main ones, not the spin-offs) although they are still essentially the same? In every game, you are required to fight gym leaders, earn badges, face the Elite 4, and defeat the champion of the region.
The same reason drives us to get SMG2. I'll leave it for you to figure out.

Super Mario Galaxy is awesome! How can the sequel not be awesome? Probably seeing the E3 trailer, when they had like so many Mario game debuts at NoA's Press Conference last year.
