Have you ever been downloading a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE file overnight, just to come back the next morning to see that <crap I can't curse here>ing windows decided to RESTART your computer to install updates FOR A PROGRAM YOU NEVER USE?

I hate microsoft.

Automatic updates are the worst thing ever. I have times when I need to hurry up and print an assignment before school, only to find Windows decided to reset overnight.

Well some thing similar, I was downloading something that takes maybe 1-2 hours and my (9 year old) sister decides to unplug the computer when there was literally like 5 seconds to go. Man I HATE her.

I hate it when the auto-restart dialog ("Your computer needs to restart to install updates. You have 60 seconds to respond or it will automatically restart." Or something to that effect) comes up when I am in the middle of doing something.

Especially in a fullscreen game. Most games have to be restarted when they're minimized, because the programmers didn't expect something like that to happen.

How come they always ask me whether I want to restart it now, or restart it later?

I use Linux =D

So, no, nothing like that, but some people in my family do complain about it enough. Can't you disable them?

Yes, but now in windows 7, if you have to restart to install updates and other programs, you have to restart multiple times. I hope they fix this in SP1

No, but I once used my computer as an alarm clock. I had it set to play a loud Mp3 an hour and 20 minutes before I needed to be somewhere. It restarted, the alarm didn't restart. I woke up 30 minutes *after* I needed to be there.

I hate it when I'm downloading things and my antivirus program glitches up. Has anyone ever had the "neverending scan?" Happens to me occasionally and I have to restart my computer as a result. :x

It stays at 100% and never stops, even though I grab the computer screen screaming "STOP THE SCAN you outdated, slow, glitchy, drug-abusing laptop!"

I think that has happened to me before but my internet shuts down after being on it forever. So if I'm downloading something big then it restarts...then I have to start the download again. It takes forever!

I have to switch browsers in order to access my fanfiction threads to make new posts. My current browser (firefox) takes an eternity to unfreeze when it loads the page (10-20 minutes).

It's annoying and I'm tempted to do some to my laptop.

Not to mention some of them make you restart, It bugs me because it finishes as I'm starting a game.

I use OS X. You have to manually do updates. No auto-restart. :D
