When have you seen this during a major plot point? I've gotten it after disbanding Team Rocket, catching the Red Gyarados at Lake of Rage, beating Morty, Whitney, and Clair, and after completing the Safari Zone Test(s).

I saw it in Slowpoke Well, Whirl Islands, Dragon's Den, in Team Rocket's Hideout, and shortly after beating the Champion.

I've never had any of that happen to me, in fact I ended call everyone in my phonebook today to see if I can get any items.

That happens whenever your mom buys you an item with the money she's saving for you. Which is kinda a gyp, but she does buy some nifty stuff.

She apparently bought me something in my Let's Play, but I haven't gotten around to checking it yet.

I haven't seen it because mom doesn't save my money. :3

I've received many berries from our mother, but occasionally she'll buy a pretty nifty item for us. She recently purchased me a Focus Sash, a Muscle Band, and I believe a Choice Scarf. I love our mother. <3

Mine got me a Moon Stone.

She actually called me as soon as I walked out of the house. She's such a nutcase...

As far as I know its mostly random, as I've seen it literally everywhere. Most items are the very valuable type berries, which are incredibly hard to get in DPPt.

That lady calls me all the time, at the most inconvenient times as well, but thanks to her I see they improved the reception on our Pokegear from the last game. (We must have switched to Verizon lol)

Damn, She calls me every five minutes if I haven't collected everything,its ridiculous.

I don't see why you would not accept her saving money, she gets great items for you! She tends to call me after every Gym Battle I have. Perhaps because of the large cash prize?

She always calls me after EVERYTHING. It gets a little annoying but, free berries.

She got me... a Super Potion. Why. Why. I don't need a Super Potion, I can buy MAX Potions now.

I always get calls from her. Mostly after when I'm done battling people.

Every time I get one of these calls I think to myself: "Woman, I trusted you with my money, and you go spending it on every fool thing that comes with a pretty name tag?! What kind of savings is that, huh?! Dipping into MY money, which you promised to save FOR ME!!"

The items are good, but I wouldn't trust that woman with anything.

Too many berries!!!! I have like 15 more items waiting for me.

I talked to quilava while standing next to Mom once.
Quilava wants to give your mom the charcoal it's holding.
You know what I said? "Don't give it to her, Quilava. She'll just go out and spend it on items you don't need."

For a while she bought me useful items, i.e. Choice Scarf, Focus Sash, but now she only buys me the berries, all of which I already have.

I just wish the phone was actually useful for something. Other than mother, you just get stupid calls, people to rechallenge, or the RARE item or swarm. The phone's only real use is for calling up gym leaders, and even that gets boring.

She calls eme a bunch of times in a bunch of important side quests
During the Goldenrod Tower incident she called and said she bought me a berry and then during the Mhaogany Town incident she bought me a choice item :3
at least something good out of the two :3

I normally don't save money because normally she gives me berries I don't need or something dumb like a Super Potion, but last run I was raising a Nidorino and told her to save my money, and stopped when she bought me a Moon Stone. Which wasn't until I got to Blackthorn City :/ And she was saving from the beginning of the game.

if you want her to stop just dont pick anything up after 5 items she will stop buying things

I wouldn't call mine major plot events, but here it goes. I got a call after beating Bugsy, and also after getting to the top of the Olivine lighthouse. Just imagine the look on Jasmine's (I think) face when you get up there and your Pokégear rings.

Some items only appear once. I've seen all of them. Now all she gets me are berries i've got 30 of already. The only good berry she got me was a Liechi Berry. It's the one 10th event Jirachi holds.

you guys are lucky i have the trainer's mother save the money, but i get is like trainer calls not the mother calling you and saying you have a super potion in the pc.

I've gotten all of the one-time items, so I usually just ignore the calls since I don't need more berries that I already have.

I was smart and told her I'll keep my own money.
