Read and discuss.

If TL; DR:
Basically, the FBI wants logs of every single website you go to from ISPs and kept for at least 2 years for "Public safety"

The question is: How does invading my privacy help me stay safe?!

My question is;

Why didn't they think of doing this when terroism was at a high level?

They thought of doing (and in some cases did) much worse back then.

Civil liberties are pretty much dead at this point. Politicians have discovered that it is much easier to ignore the Constitution and call it 'loose interpretation' than to actually go through the trouble of amending it.

You're kidding right? :l
After they had a thread before of everyone revealing there wet dreams about a certain fetish involving raep? The linked page mentions pornography so I assume its ok to mention it. :V

Anywho, this is a good way for them to catch child predators, but I highly doubt they'll find any terrorist action or anything extreme. Besides I don't think they'll be looking through everyone's logs. It would be way to hard to organize. They'll probably just search anyone that's had a criminal record before im sure.

Still, I feel like Americas "freedom" is practically not existent at this point. :l My sister got CPS watching her because her child had an itty bitty bruise on him which came from him rough housing in school. Shes even been found innocent and yet still has to attend parenting classes...which she has to pay for. Either way if she won or loss she would've had to pay money over to the government. :l

I really don't care about anonymous thing but the fact it will make isp's cost skyrocket is bad for everyone. An honestly look up your ip once your geolocation is logged anyways so it dosen't matter. It only effects thouse running free hotspots etc.

Also if you really care about being anonymus look at the tor network.

http://www.torproject.org/

Also look what owning a domain revels.

Eh... You have to remember that using information this way (that is, without a search warrant) means it can't be used on trial. With that in mind, they're assuming that for any real threats, there will be loads of information outside the sites visited - this just helps narrow down on people who could do something, and more-over prevent people from getting hurt.

The PATRIOT act alone I believe gives them all the permission they need to snoop on you - this way there just more organized.

I'd like to see them actually try it, 'cause I'd like to see what would happen then.

For some reason my I have two IPs. :S

BTW. The government has a log of every single person born the day they are born. Most people from 4 generations ago are dead (sadly). And back then no records were kept. You may think you gotten rid of everything if you delete it. But unless you go through the back door and see EVERY SINGLE THING YOU EVER DID on your computer (that means directly going into all the hardware and software and everything else you saved, you are recorded. Quite frankly is the gov going to go after millions of teens watching p0rn on the computer? Not really. Quite frankly I really don't care cause I haven't done anything that will jeopardize the government in any way. If the gov wants teens to stop watching nasty things on websites then they'll have to manually take it off themselves. It's called life and human nature for a reason. Our minds generate things in our body and we enjoy them. The only people the government can blame is themselves for leaving it there in the first place. Trust me the only major thing the gov wants gone is terrorism hackers. It's virtually impossible to stop a hacker. There are MILLIONS of them. here is my tip for you DO NOT DO ANYTHING ILLEGAL THAT WILL JEOPARDIZE THE SAFETY OF YOUR FAMILY OR ANYONE ON THIS PLANET AND YOU'LL BE FINE. Don't play with the government, 'cause quite frankly you'll be be putting your life on a monopoly board and you won't be "hacking" yourself off of it. I say this because its people like me that watch out for the benefit of the good people who are blamed.

Normally I'd complain about your use of the name of a political party rather than a moar general term, but I just said "moar."
I really don't think the government cares about teenagers watching n0rp, but it's a scary idea.

I just played "Republican Talking Points Bingo" with Stephen Colbert. You matched 23/25 spaces, not counting free space.
