Not sure I want to buy HG/SS because I already have G/S that nothing is wrong with. Clock still works perfect, game runs properly, I even have a GBC to run it on.
I realize you have the improved graphics, pokemon from all 4 gens instead of 2, but it looks to me to be pretty much the exact same game. (aside from the 5 or so minor route/city additions that will provide an extra 2 minutes of entertainment)
This is how I got with FR/LG as well, and ended up not getting one of them. But I didn't have more informed people to ask then.

I realize that it's made to be a re-make, but it shouldn't be exact.
Why should I buy this game?

Aww well truly the purpose of the HG/SS is too connect all nations together so you may trade amongst them. With Leaf and fire we have the first gen, with SS/HG we have 2nd gen, with R/S/E theres your 3rd gen and last is platinum pearl and diamond. They all have ways of connecting to each other now to transfer pokemon. Thats the true reason....but Im still getting it for the nice graphics, nostalgia, access to new move tutor moves and having my pokes follow me around. =w= Up to you whether ya want it or not, but those are few O' mine.

^Couldn't have put it better myself.
I would also recommend you to get it so that you can be part of what's going on. Trust me, the feeling of being left out or different is something you don't want to experience.

I can see where you're coming from, as I'm not a huge fan of graphics either. However, the game really is new, and I have to think just as I'll enjoy this one like its a new adventure, I'll still enjoy the old Crystal.

Every single time an update arrives to an already released version of a Pokemon game, there are major and minor differences that make it worth the asking price. Get HGSS. Now. I'm serious. Build a time machine and fastforward to next Saturday. And buy HGSS. And play it. And have insane amounts of fun.

Saturday? If he |>|>'d to Saturday he'd need to also get a plane to fly to a GameStop that breaks the release date.

...Err, Sunday. My bad.

But yeah. Move through time and space to a GameStop this Sunday and buy HeartGold or SoulSilver. Or HeartGold AND SoulSilver.

Well, if he doesn't preorder, then go buy it from a place more deserving than GameStop. ;P

By flaws, you mean... I can't count the days?

Well, assuming he DIDN'T preorder, he could use the time machine to get a copy seriously early.

Get HGSS or we will solemnly stare at you whenever you walk by, Flare.

Don't second guess. Just buy it. You don't want to get the stare, do you?
