I'm going to have to say Super Paper Mario. Paper Mario from the N64 is boring somewhat and I beat the game so many times and saw the ending so many times I can't count. Never played Thousand Year Door. Plus, Super Paper Mario is my favorite by far and with the original a runner-up

Post comments of your favorite.

While I have yet to play SPM, Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door is definitely my favorite.

Like Yoshi, I've not yet played Super Paper Mario, however The Thousand Year Door was one of the best game's I've ever played, and easily the best family-friendly one ever.

I own and have played all three. TTYD I got to the boss and stopped b/c it was too hard. I haven't finished the first. SPM I beat a while ago.

I haven't played the original Paper Mario, but Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is one of my favorite GameCube games. I'll go with PMTTYD.

I feel as though I magically appear when I am needed the most to fufill people's wishes.

Super Paper Mario is a wonderful mix of 2-D/psuedo3-D platforming and RPG's. Although, some of the characters do have a way of freaking me out... That nerdy chameleon for one. Its obsession with butterflies is borderline schitzophrenic.

Arceus! Yes the nerdy chameleon was a freaky boss (at least the boss music was cool) and the gimmicks (My Arceus they were so unrealistic!) Like the Princess Peach and nerd one and the RPG Chain Chomp fight in the UnderWhere (bad pun.) I'm stuck in the OverThere (lol) nearly finshed with the game. I needed a lot of help with the puzzles then I thought I would and the relationship made me LOL at your comment. It has such a CHEESY feel to it ,but Mario and Luigi did that (and Super Mario RPG) and it worked VERY WELL. I know what the game is going for: a simple, cheesy, fun, and AWESOME experince and for that reason alone I LOVE Super Paper Mario. (that and that mario is in it lol. No! I'm DEFINATLY NOT BUYING Hotel Mario. I'm only buying the NORMAL MARIO ROOTS example: Super Mario Sunshine, Galaxy, Paper Mario, and Mario and Luigi) I love the 2D-3D thing it's VERY original.

My chosen favorite is Paper Mario:The Thousand Year Door
This game is filled with awe inspiring paper graphics,a deep storyline, a plethora of interesting characters. I share so many fond memories with this game. I have played and conquered all three and they are all deserving of recognition.

WELL I GUESS I'M THE ONLY ONE WHO LIKES THE ORIGINAL, THEN.

The first one was really great I think, one of the better games of the N64 era.

Exactly the same here. I couldn't beat TTYD because of the last 3 bosses and SPM was too easy while I literally just beat the original.

I voted for the original because it's original.
But all three have great storylines. And they are also quite fun.

The original was great, but Super PM was kind of disappointing. Thousand-year door, however was epic. Huge plot, great character development, lots of side quests, actual Mario characters, and the appearance of the most epic boss in the history of bosses.Embedded image

I've never played The Thousand Year Door, but I do agree that Super Paper Mario was a bit disappointing. I like the turn-based battles more, I guess. Paper Mario was just more entertaining to me.

I love TTYD. The orignal was super and was the reason why I purchased the sequel. It took everything n64 had and just made it better. I want to play it again so bad. I bought one of two copies from gamestop and it won't boot, so I'm taking it back and hoping the other copy will boot. I don't have a memery card as of now (a story I don't want to tell because it hurts), but I don't care if I have to leave my Wii on, I will play it.

As for Super Paper Mario, it's meh. A bit easy, and while it is true I played it on Dolphin, still the same (literally) nevertheless. I couldn't progress far (being stuck at 1-4 where you press - and 1 on the statue) Merlee's mansion was pretty cool though, nice soundtracks and (not) so nice Mimi-

I'm going to go create a TTYD general thread.

Also, wish for the best, Paper Mario 3DS!

I am in LOVE with Super paper mario because of the habit to go to and get the code in 5-1, then write it down, fail using it and go back to see the guy and get another code to see if it's the same.
