Besides Pikachu (in commercials for the virtual Pikachu), the first Pokemon I really saw was Vaporeon (on a holographic trading card a kid was asking another teacher to try to draw [ha ha]). I also remember another student trying to describe what a Bulbasaur was to me, and I didn't even know he was trying to say "Bulbasaur" (I didn't know anything about Pokemon yet!)

First I saw was Squirtle, as the first episode I saw was the Squirtle squad episode. I then thought the show was called Squirtle, as that's all they were saying. I was very confused the next day when my Mum told me that Pokémon was on again.

In this comic I had they were advertising Pokemon and it had 5-10 pokemon listed on it. Tentacool was the first on the list.

Hmm, other than Pikachu...there is only one "really old" memory that sticks in my mind: kids talking about "blast toys" ( :9: of course).

I remember getting up at 6:30 in the morning getting ready to go to daycare and watching pokemon at 7:00am at daycare.

I think it was pikachu, mew, or charizard because of the cards and anime...

It was either Blastoise, Pikachu, or... Meowth or Mew.

Mewtwo was the first Pokemon I ever saw, and that was on a card of him that I owned really very early.

If I go all the way back, the first few Pokemon I REMEMBER seeing would be the Gengar and Onix in the opening monologue of the anime pilot. Then the starters and the Pidgey alarm clock, and then Pikachu. Until RSE, Pikachu was my favorite Pokemon, and I still use one in my non-EV'd team.

My first was Blastoise and Charizard on the Red and Blue boxart.

The first pokemon I saw besides Pikachu was Brock's Ludicolo. I was looking through the channels and Pokemon Advanced Battle was on. It was the episode where Lombre evolved into Ludicolo.

I got my Pokemon FireRed before I saw the anime, and Charizard was on the box... So no, I did not see Mewtwo first.

Pikachu was slapped onto nearly every merchandising material related to Pokemon. If you DIDN'T somehow see him first, then you're insane. Unless you excluded him in your responses.

Machop...It was at the beginning of my introduction to Pokemon. My dear older sister had an abundance of cards and I happened to stumble upon the classic Base set Machop. And that my friends was when I became infatuated with the series as I am to this day.

Mine would have to be Lugia or ho oh, cuz I saw and bought my first pokemon game at this gas station and it was gold or silver cant remember which but my favorite pokemon was probably umbreon because my friend had one and it always beatt my magneton, lol yeah. See, we had this competition thing going on so i had a lvl 81 magneton and he had a lvl 89 umbreon, I always lost..man...good times lol

Mine would be Charizard. I first saw it on the Red game cartridge when my friend brought it to school and showed everyone at lunch.

This is going to be tough. Pokemon showed up here in 2001. By then it was already out. Commercials to the first 2 movies and a watch-thing were aired on Cartoon Network. Also I saw the news report on the seziure episode. Since that was in the earliest of days of the show, it is possible that the first pokemon I saw were Pikachu and Porygon. I never remembered their names however, and from the PTM2000 and MSB movies I only memorized Mew and Mewtwo. I remained oblivious to what pokemon was for some time. When the show DID air here I caught the episode where Ash is in Viridian Forest, and saw Metapod and Pikachu aswell as Pidgeotto. The concept seemed interesting but it was weekend easter, and I was considering that Pokemon was only a short series or movie and didn't begin watching again until after 3rd gym.

Flareon. My brother was playing his old Red version, and i looked over his shoulder, as i didn't even have a gameboy at the time. Anyway, its now my favorite pokemon and when I first saw it, i was mystified by this awesome pokemon, even though i didn't know what Pokemon was, or even that it was just a couple of pixels, but i was intrigued by flareon, and aways will be.

I think the first one I saw was Poliwhirl.

I can't remember. I remember that I loved Gengar before I even really knew what Pokémon was. I was, of course, around 2 or 3 years old back then. So I would guess it was Gengar.

Pikachu. I watched the anime a lot when I was younger, and the first episode is what intrigued me.

Not the first one I saw, but one of the first that I remember is Dragonite. I remember seeing the episode where Ash & friends go to lighthouse and the giant Dragonite appears quite clearly for some reason.
