I started the game, picked Torchic (terrible Attack stat, mind you), and played up to Petalburg. I've already almost got Combusken after training a little in the grass. Then I started doing Wonder Trade for fun.

Only five trades in and I received a shiny Metagross from a Friend Safari. Perhaps there is a Santa Claus.

I'm looking for a Ralts, and I've already come across a Surskit three times.

I don't have the game yet, should be buying it over Thanksgiving break (maybe I'll even find a Cyber Monday deal ;D) but OH MY GOD THE OPENING SCENE. ALL OF IT. I saw it twice but it didn't get ANY LESS BEAUTIFUL.

Finally got the game this evening. Currently played up to Petalburg (where's Hooktail? Oh wait, wrong Petalburg).

So far I'm really enjoying the game. I never really played too much of the 3rd gen games, so this will be great to finally go through Hoenn properly.

Okay, so real life has so far blocked my AS marathon this weekend but so far I'm standing outside Petalburg with the following:

Adamant Shiny event Beldum, Metagrossite, level 9 (going to stop obeying me soon D: ), Hold Back, Iron Head, Zen Headbutt, Iron Defense
Careful Treecko, level 9, Pound, Leer, Absorb, Quick Attack

Notable things:
- That intro. Had a very severe fanboy moment right at the beginning of the game.
- Named my character "Dragonite" because I'm creative.
- Now that I'm playing Hoenn in 3DSvision, I'm not sure I fully appreciated X and Y when they were new because everywhere I go I'm like "this looks AMAZING." The conversion from GBA to 3DS really puts things in perspective, I suppose.

I'm loving the game. <3 I agree with Dragonite. For some reason, I'm really into the graphics in this game, more-so than in XY. Maybe it's cause of the music.. Oh, I love the music.

What also helped was that I've had no time to even look into the game until now that I'm playing it. :3

I'm up to Fallarbor Town. Grovyle, Swellow, Breloom, Mightyena, Numel, and Loudred!

One more update before I go to bed again. I just caught Groudon, it only cost me one Quick Ball One Dusk Ball and an Ultra Ball. I started off pretty mad today when I found out the New Mauville sidequest was moved to the post game and the trick house no longer has any pokemon trainers. However I'm still quite happy with this game, I like the expanded sidequest on the abandoned ship, the larger role of the rival and Team Magma was kind of needed. Team Magma's base was also pretty awesome it was the best one since the Galactic Base. My favorite feature would have to be the dexnav it's something simple I've always needed. Anyways this is easily my favorite remake so far I'm kind of hoping we see an Emerald Remake hate admit it but it's true.

First My Contest Team I decided based off of all of the moves my pokemon had, how fitting they were for the category and whether or not they had a Mega Evolution. I've already gotten past each contest in Normal and Super Rank.

Also I made my Latios an HM Slave since I already have a much higher leveled one and I needed a pokemon with Dive and Fly. I'm probably going to take care of all of the water routes before I challenge Wallace it's what I usually do.

Most of you probably already rushed through and beat the champion by now, this is mainly for my own reference:

I played Omega Ruby for 11 hours on both Saturday and Sunday, defeating Steven in the 17th hour. Last time I saved, it was just after I battled Tornadus, which unfortunately struggled itself to death, so that's another legendary I can't catch until winning against the League again. My team is made up of gifts and high-leveled DexNav Pokemon I encountered, so my team is Sceptile, Swellow, Pelipper, Exploud, Sandslash, and Latios.

I was playing around with the Dex Nav and when I got to level 48 I got a shiny Pikachu.

Im hoping when i get Alpha Sapphire that i name my character Kaskashi, if the dang game lets me. Cause on my Emerald i use it,

I completed the National Dex again and got the shiny charm. I'm now soft resetting for a shiny Lugia.

I may be one of the slower players, but I'm enjoying the game at my own pace.

I've had to ditch a few Pokémon already, as I didn't check their abilities once I got them. I also gave DexNav chaining a shot, getting up to about 90 before breaking it. No shiny, but I got some nice stats and a nice hidden ability out of it.

But no, none of that compares to what just happened. While in Mauville, I traded my Linoone over to X to delete Surf and Cut and replace with Shadow Claw and Hone Claws once it got back, and I had to do the trade through the PC because it complained I couldn't trade Pokémon with HM moves in the party. I withdrew an Azumarill to use Surf instead and headed east out of Mauville, forgetting to withdraw Linoone.

After leaving east from Mauville, I encountered...

Steven, who took me to Southern Island for a free Latios.

Uh, guys.

I just caught Primal Kyogre.

In ONE POKé BALL*.

* actually it was a Nest Ball BUT STILL

After burning nearly my entire supply of Poké Balls, I caught Groudon (which looks awesome in that cave, by the way) in a Great Ball while my Skarmory (with Sturdy) had 1 HP. That Skarmory shouldn't have survived, but Groudon kept using Earthquake and Precipitate Blades.

Afterwards, like a complete genius, I didn't restock my Poké Balls. Instead...

I soared on Latios to a secret island and found Cobalion. I also found out I only had seven Great Balls. Somehow, I caught it in one.



I then stopped by another secret island, again forgetting to stock up, and caught Mesprit in a Poké Ball.

Working on leveling up a new team to rechallenge the E4. Currently on the route between Verdanturf Town & Mauville City, which I believe is 119 if I remember correctly. My team is Quilava, Zigzagoon, Wingull, Minun, Nuzleaf, & Surskit.

Oh yeah, I forgot to post this. It's my Hall of Fame-completion team.

Basically destroyed the first wave of the E4 with my lv80+ party. o.0 Im now doing the Delta Episode plus finishing my National Dex. (i got like 30 or so to go) Heck by the time i had i 6 badges, my pokemon were in there 60's. (This includes traded mons that started at lv1) Those Blissey Bases help with this.
