Practically all of the Gold gifts are $5 on the Virtual Console. Many of the regular physical items are sold out, and it doesn't appear like they'll be in stock again soon. I wonder, do you think production of physical gifts has gotten too expensive for them?

Probably a lot of people got a gold/platinum CN status because of all the Wii U system and Mario Kart 8 promotions so it was more reasonable to give digital rewards.

Though dangit, the FIRST YEAR I FINALLY GET PLATINUM it's just a bunch of digital stuff, nothing physical and worth something.

Good thing i got that 9 slot Blue DS case (With DS sticks) holder for 600 coins before it sold out. Pretty soon i can one of gifts that are 250 coins. (I got 240 right now) *Sigh* But it does suck that they have barley any physical gifts left.

I miss the physical rewards for Platinums (I have a button collection, card deck, and Majora's Mask OST from 2011, '12, and '13 respectively), but I'll gladly take NES Remix, since I'd already bought NES Remix 2 to get the last 10 coins for Platinum. It's a good game, and it unlocks a special mode in 2 I need to complete to 100% it.

As for shop merchandise, I'm glad I bought my black Wiimote holder when I did.
