I don't really pay attention to this usually, but it got my attention when an episode started off where the trio (Ash, Brock, Dawn) were hungry.

That got me thinking:

-Where does Ash and his friends get money? Trainer battles?
-What happens when any of them have to do their "business"?
-I once saw a campsite in an earlier episode, where did they keep the tents?
-The only time Ash has ever been in a Poke'mart was to get a super potion for Pikachu, so where does Ash get his pokeballs?
-How come Ash's butterfree never came home?
-Why doesn't Ash ever pay attention to his Pokemon that are stored at Oak's place?
-Why doesn't Ash get his Charizard back?
-Did any of Ash's starters that he caught (Like his Bulbasaur) ever evolve? Besides his Charmander.
-Why couldn't Ash get all of his badges fairly in the first series? (1st, Sprinklers. 2nd, gave to him, then a fight. 3rd, legit. 4th, saved Erika's Gloom from a fire. 5th, Didn't see that one. 6th, Made Sabrina laugh. 7th, saved the gym. 8th, grabbed it as he was falling.)
-Why doesn't Ash use his strong pokemon from the region before to easily beat all the gym leaders?

If you think you have an answer, post it.
If you have a question, post that.

EDIT: I also recall seeing a little animation before ash went into the pokemon league in the first gen and it played back a bunch of short clips of him beating the gym (Or getting the badge in the final badge's case).
1. (Little blury memory) Onix is defeated
2. (again blury) Staryu is attacking... i forget and loses
3. (no memory but seen the actual episode) Pikachu beats Riachu
4. (Again with above) Ash saves gloom along with befriending it
5. no idea
6. again, no idea
7. Something about magmar (I think)
8. (The only one i bothered to remember) Grabs badge in the air while Ash is falling

- His mom probably sends him money.
- They do it behind a tree like any other animal.
- In the backpack of course in an earlier episode it was shown to pretty much be bottomless.
- He probably is given them whenever he gets his pokedex upgaded.
- I don't get that question.
- He has other pokemon to take care of now he wants to start every region like a new beginning every time.
- Pretty much what I just said but he did bring back in a couple episodes.
- His Chicorita evolved into Bayleef, his Treeko into Sceptile, and his Turtwig and Chimchar are going to evolve into Torterra and Infernape soon.
- Ash was just a bad trainer during all those battles and they wanted to make it seem like he was lucky.
- Once again I just explained why up there.

Home problably, and don't forget, services at the Pokemon Centers are free

-What happens when any of them have to do their "business"?

I'm sure Pokemon Centers/other buildings have bathrooms; other than that, I think the question's been answered already... (but to even ask, that's as bad as the age-old "why didn't the Brady Bunch house ever have a toilet", which makes no sense, since we heard it flush in an episode!) The anime doesn't necessarily chronicle every minute of their lives!

-I once saw a campsite in an earlier episode, where did they keep the tents?

In their backpacks

-The only time Ash has ever been in a Poke'mart was to get a super potion
for Pikachu, so where does Ash get his pokeballs?

From Prof. Oak, probably each time before he leaves on a new journey from Pallet Town; as stated above, we don't see every moment of their lives...

-How come Ash's butterfree never came home?

"Never" indicates the series is over; who is to say Butterfree will not someday return?

-Why doesn't Ash ever pay attention to his Pokemon that are stored at Oak's place?

That's just mean; Ash still loves all his Pokemon and visits them whenver he is in Pallet Town. to say he deos not care about them just because they are staying with Prof. Oak is not fair, as he thinks about them often...even those that are not at the lab, like the aformentioned Butterfree, in "A Trainer and Child Reunion" (as Caterpie), and even more recently, he told a young Trainer about his Heracross and Bulbasaur ("Strategy Begins at Home")

-Why doesn't Ash get his Charizard back?

Charizard it still training at the Charisific (?sp) Valley. Charizard did return to train with Ash for the Battle Pyramid at the end of the Kanto Battle Fronteir episodes, as did Squirtle and Bulbasaur. Again, he has certainly not forgotten about this non-party Pokemon

-Did any of Ash's starters that he caught (Like his Bulbasaur) ever evolve? Besides his Charmander.

Chikorita evolved into Bayleef (way back in 4th season!!); Treecko evolved all the way into Septile throughout the Hoenn/Battle Fronteir saga. His Turtwig is now a Grotle. And of course, his Chimchar that Paul abandoned is currently a Monferno, soon to be an Infernape (we've all seen "The Greatest Everyday" I hope!)

I think those badges were earned, despite his unconventional way of getting them (rescuing Pokemon, saving the gym in same cases). However, as Ash became a better trainer, it was good to see him earn each and every badge solely because of his battle skills and bond with his Pokemon

-Why doesn't Ash use his strong pokemon from the region before to easily beat all the gym leaders?

Come on, do YOU transfer your champion Pokemon from your last game into the newest main series game and just breeze through all eight gyms instead of taking on the real challenge of catching and raising new and unique Pokemon - where's the fun in that??!!

One thing I've noticed: At the beginning of the Orange Islands saga, Ash left his Pidgeot and promise to come back for it after he was done. Several regions later, including at least three returns to Kanto, he still hasn't gotten it.

Ash has mentioned it before and he's said he'll visit it someday but he keeps getting destracted with his new flying type.

-Because Butterfree went away in the first season. I think if Butterfree were to come back, it would've already

-That's different, every time you start a new main series game, your a different person! Unlike Ash, where all of his pokemon will obey him either way.

- Mommy! Or trainer battles.
- Go to a Pokémon Center.
- No valid answer for that one.
- Well, they don't have to show him always going into a PM. He also may get them through other means.
- It was commonly thought that Butterfree die after mating, though I believe this rumor was later proven wrong. So, I guess he's just happy without Ash.
- Well, he likes the idea of a fresh start. They're happy with Oak I'm sure.
- Its still in training.
- Neither Bulbasaur nor Squirtle did. The former refused to evolve in "Bulbasaur's Mysterious Garden". I can't elaborate on later starters.
- He did fairly get the Marsh Badge by beating Koga, the Volcano badge by beating Blaine's Magmar with his Charizard, and the Earth Badge by beating Team Rocket (Jesse and James) who were temporally filling in for Giovanni.
- You don't learn anything or have any fun that way.
