I have an idea of a tournament to be done around the end of November. How about that one-Pokémon-per generation idea? You must form a team using six Pokémon, each from a different generation. (No, I will not make exceptions to count Sylveon as Gen I, for instance.) It would be standard Lv. 50 battles using only Pokémon obtained in X/Y (as the Bank wouldn't be out yet).

Rules:
"Normal" Lv. 50
Six Pokémon per player
No more than one Pokémon in each generation
Item Clause (No two Pokémon may hold the same item)
Pokémon may not share evolution lines (no Gardevoir and Gallade, for instance)
Teams may not be altered once entered

I think this could be a fun way to battle before everyone starts importing old teams and hacks get mixed in. We might even be able to pull off a second tournament in mid-December if the first one goes over well.

Wow that's early... it's a good thing Super Training is the only thing that matters. This sounds like a fantastic idea, other than the fact that it'd be reeeaaally difficult obtaining specifics without transfer.

Sylveon is most definitely Gen VI and only Gen VI, I don't understand how an exception could be made at all

I like the sound of that. Most gimmick tournaments I've tried in the past really never took off, but this one definitely has promise. As it is, I had another idea for one percolating in my head today, so that could possibly be that second one, but it's a secret for the time being~

Would using a Mega count as a Gen 6 Pokemon? For example, can I use Mega Aggron?

Hm, haven't decided if having a Mega Pokémon would be allowed. At least the game limits you to just using one per battle, even if you have multiple of them set up.

If Mega Pokémon are allowed, they would be of their respective generations. Mega Aggron, for instance, would be Gen III.

This sounds pretty interesting. I have been going nuts over X and Y for the last couple of days and would be very willing to make a team for a tourney like this. Being able to battle before the release of the Pokemon Bank definitely has a nice ring to it.

Im up for something like this, i been already working on my gen 6 team before the bank thing comes out. After i work this current team im planning (A Halloween team ) i could start up for this kind of thing.

I'd personally love to do something like this, since I've been itching to do some competitive work in this new system. And if Mega Evos aaare allowed, I may just have something up my sleeve...

I'm all for it, it's just that December is a busy time of me. The whole winter is. Lol screw that, more like the whole year cause of wrestling. But anyways, i'll be excited to watch the Battle Videos and what not, maybe if I'm free I'll participate. But it's gonna be a burden to get my team ready so.. We'll see.

I'm not saying I will or will not ban them...except Blaziken. That thing is banned regardless.

Speaking of which, we'll need to come up with our own ban list because there are no Gen VI tiers yet.

Blaziken is definitely über. There's no question about that. Coupling that with its Mega Stone puts it up there with annoying Pokémon like Palkia.

And yes, all übers from Gen V will likely be banned unless someone can provide solid reasoning why particular ones shouldn't. I think all of our tournaments have banned them, so it shouldn't be much of a surprise.

The only non-legendaries on that list are Blaziken and Excadrill. Blaziken is an event and Excadrill can only be found through someone's Friend Safari.

Also, standard bans would be in place, such as Double Team and Moody.

Hey i thought the games did auto level to lv100? Or is that option for lv100 is from gen 5 still? If it is lv50 will be fine.

I like the idea of this, we'll have a ton of variety to choose from.

A tournament idea I had was a Wonder Trade Cup. You put 6 Pokémon up for Wonder trade and you use whatever you receive for the battles; without EV training or changing the moves that the Pokémon has. It involves luck, but I think it would be fun.

I dunno. A lot of what goes up is from breeding, which means NFEs and no EVs. All it takes is one person who gets lucky with a legendary or a Pokémon that was trained through the main game.

Question about the 1 per generation on a team rule. Would weavile considered as a 5th gen poke or 4th gen do to sneasle? Also can garchomp be used as i dont think rough skin as been found in X&Y for him that i know of, but sandveil will be used do to that. But i think auto-weather wont break its ability that bad do to the 5 turns thing with auto-weathet. (kinda like using the sandstorm move)

It should most certainly be Singles, it's natural and relaxed.

I don't know why Freeze Clause is a thing, it's uncontrollable.

The version mascots are generally regarded as Uber, and they're the only new legendary Pokemon in this gen.

The game itself only allows 1 Mega Evolution per team, dummy I don't think they should be banned, they're relatively balanced in that it's just a forme change.

Weavile is definitely 4th Gen. Always has been, always will be. Garchomp isn't invincible like Mega Blaziken can be (giving it Power-Up Punch is unfair), so it's not too bad.

Plus if i use garchomp, pretty much fairys will be harc to deal with unless i can come up with new move set for it. (which i have an idea set to try out)

Can blaziken with its Blaze ability be used? But with no mega stone. Cause without speed boost blaziken isnt as good but decent enough to be usable.

(Seriously, who thought Speed Boost was a good idea? That Yanmega in the Elite Four of Diamond/Pearl should've shown why it shouldn't have been used.)

Drizzle + Swift Swim will likely remain banned for this tournament. Friend Safari Pokémon are certainly eligible as long as you meet the requirement of one Pokémon from each generation without reusing the same evolutionary line. As for other banned abilities...I don't know.

Blaziken with Speed Boost is banned, yes, but I see no reason to ban it if it has Blaze. Is there anything wrong with Blaze Blaziken?

What about sleep? I just lost online because some punk put 2 of my Pokemon to sleep with Chlorophyll Venusaur. -_- I could go for Doubles, but Singles is fine. Blaziken with Blaze isn't a problem, actually. Can't Baton Pass crazy stats and can't outspeed the majority of the OU metagame after a speed boost considering it has Speed Boost. If psuedo-legandaries are allowed, then I don't see why the 3 birds can't be in.

Edit: Since you said Gallade is part of the Ralts evolution line, does that mean it's considered 3rd gen or 4th?

The fact that Sleep Clause is on isn't necessarily a good thing any more.

Sleep isn't as powerful as it once was, receiving two consecutive nerfs in generations, it now only lasts 1-3 turns and the amount of turns that you've been asleep is now saved when switching out, making it so it doesn't reset upon switch-out.

What's more is that since sleep clause's creation, there are many new abilities and attacks that can combat sleep. There's a reason why Game Freak does not enforce it any more.
