I have to admit I'm incredibly disappointed in this amount.

Only 69 new Kalos pokemon, meaning that they revealed nearly half were revealed via pre release.

I'm just really annoyed right now.

Then what was the point of them showing all them pokemon if we wont have that mamy new ones this time around. U think we would have another 100+ pokes.

You really think that's all? What about the legendary trio's, plus the other non-main legendaries.

There are only three legendary pokemon this generation.

May I ask where you're getting this information? Just because there haven't been any confirmed yet (And those people who've gotten it early haven't said anything) doesn't necessarily mean that that's all we're going to get.

And even if it is, you have to hand it to them for coming up with as many as they have; I'm sure it's hard coming up with new ideas that don't infringe on anyone else's rights (And you have to admit that they've come pretty close; a fighting-type Panda Pokemon? Sounds kinda familiar). And maybe they just decided that adding more Pokemon just didn't have as much priority this time around, and instead focused on things like a new type, Mega evolutions, CHARACTER CUSTOMIZATION, that sort of thing. I'm not saying that I think things are perfect, but I know that you can't please everyone, and that we should really be thanking GameFreak and Nintendo for doing as much as they have, not be all upset just because things are only 99% how we want them to be.

ETA: And I don't mean to be pointing fingers at anyone with that last remark, I just meant in general.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they haven't confirmed this number anywhere. A link would be nice. (Not to a leak from a website other than an official source, though.)


Even so, I'm not all to bothered. I think we got spoiled Gen V, with about 150 new Pokemon. In Gen II, they only introduced 100.
They did have to design all of those Mega Pokemon as well, so I can give them a break. (Unless the Mega Pokemon are included in this count. )

All Kalos Pokémon and all revealed Mega Evolutions considered based on the leaks added together, considering X and Y forms of Mega Evolutions, the total comes to 90 (70 Kalos, 20 Mega Evos), which is a pretty solid amount. Besides, the game features a plethora of the Pokémon in previous gens, so one can't really complain.

I'm sorry everyone, but a leaker has revealed the end of the national Dex. Yveltal is No. 717, with another Pokemon who I'm not going to say after it.

That means we get the inevitable event legend, pushing the total up to 70.

He hasn't found another pokemon after it accept for the third version one and he's had the game for more then a week.

I don't know why you guys are complaining all that much, that makes it that much easier to get all the new pokemon this time around. It might be a fair amount less than usual, but let's be honest here, the rest of them probably would have been garbage if they made more than they wanted. I don't think anybody wants that.

I thought we would get another sinnoh dex this time around, where we got some new pokes and evolved pokes from old games.

After seeing Sylveon I was hoping for more evolutions based on previous Pokemon, but I suppose it simply was not meant to be. 70 Pokemon isn't great, but I also like seeing older Pokemon during the game so this isn't too awful. I checked a leaked list of all of the Pokemon in the National Dex and my good buddy

     
Abra
shows up in the National Dex, which means I can once again use him in game, and that may not have happened if there were more new Pokemon in the way. Blessing in disguise? I think so.
