I guess I got myself spoiled a lot in the PlayStation 1 and Game Boy Pocket/Color/Advance era, as I find myself difficult to get to games originally for a system earlier than the SNES in their original forms.

Oh, well I may win this one considering the system I can tolerate is older than our own admins and probably older than 95% of all the VR members. I happen to have a working Atari 2600, and I have no problem playing the games on there, and I even enjoy it!

I can play older games no matter how far they go back. I really have no issue with them. There's maybe one or two I can't play because they haven't aged well. But those are mostly obscure games.

Seeing as I enjoy the NES and the Commodore 64, I really have no problem with really old games. In fact, I'm actually rather used to them. x3

It's not really the age of the game that matters to me. It's what the developers did with what they had.

If arcade games count, then I'd probably change my answer to before the 80s. I'm sorry, just not a fan of the Atari. But yeah, mainly NES and up is awesomesauce(except for SEGA CD*shudder*).

I actually have a working NES around here somewhere, with the first two LoZ games, both gold.

I don't usually care how old a game is, if it's fun, I'll play it.

I love all of my games and systems. The farthest back I can recall is a mix of the PlayStation and arcade games. On my PlayStation I would frequently play arcade classics like Ms. Pac-Man, Dig Dug, Pole Position, and Phozon. It took a while but I also went to a real arcade and got to experience those, even though I sacrificed plenty quarters/tokens since I was and still am not very good at them
Although I've never owned one, I can tolerate anything from NES onward. Sorry, Atari.

As Cat has already mentioned, it's not about the console, it's about what the developers did with their games. I could find a NES game to keep me entertained for hours just as I could find an Xbox 360 game to disgust me to the point where I stop playing it in 5 minutes.

I only have back to a working SNES. I can tolerate all the way back to the 2600 and well quite a bit before actually, but some Atari 2600 games are a bit rough overall, I find that there are some really great titles for it^^

This is dependent on the type of game. For some consoles, a game will handle differently. I'm not saying that as is A person who predominately plays XBox playing the same game he's played nonstop for 5 weeks on a playstation, but like someone (like a let's player) who owns both an xbox and a playstation, the handling may be different. LPs like Markiplier and Pewdie even say this. Don't get me wrong, I totally agree about the devs work on there games. There are a lot of games that I've played where they just through it together like ikea furniture (Fable 3, in my opinion, is a good example.

I very much enjoy NES games. I haven't really tried anything older, even with my presumably working Atari 2600. I think stuff from SNES/GEN era are my favorites.
