A new CoroCoro was released today, giving some new details on Pokémon Rumble U. The game will use NFC (Near Field Communication) technology to give the ability to use physical Pokémon figures within the game. This is similar to Spyro Skylanders with purchasable figures that you can collect and then use in-game. The figures will also be able to store data from gameplay (time used, matches won, etc). They will be available at Pokémon Center stores at launch for 200 yen (~$2) each. There will be 6 standard Pokémon figures along with one special one.
Bulbasaur, Pikachu, Torchic, Piplup, Lucario, and Victini. There is also a carrying case available to hold all 7 released.
1 – Cat333PokémonThe good thing about the physical figures is that you can actually collect them. Let's hope they're cheap here too.
1 – Yoshi648At least this one makes sense with the game, them being toys and all in the Rumble series. Skylanders, on the other hand had to bring magic portals into the equation. Basically, the Pokémon idea was probably in the making and will probably print money.
4 – Yoshi648, Cat333Pokémon, Velociraptor78, TurtwigXWell, seems I was a little off on my figure predictions:
Bulbasaur, Pikachu, Torchic, Piplup, Lucario, and Victini. There is also a carrying case available to hold all 7 released.
