My DS doesn't seem to recognize my copy of Pokemon Emerald, I don't know if it's my DS or the game, can anyone help?

Well, the Lite had no issues with regional settings, so it can't be that. Maybe something is really dirty, so it can't detect it. That or it's just defective. Is it just Emerald or other GBA games, too?

Yeah, that's pretty much the same diagnosis I provide: test other games in the DS Lite, and test the game cartridge in other systems.

I did have a friend who had trouble with a specific combination of Pearl and DS Lite. The game worked fine in any other system, and any other game worked fine in the DS Lite, but those two didn't work nicely. That DS Lite also would not work with any GBA product whatsoever, not even displaying "option pack" or attempting a read from various Pokémon games to the GBA slot.

Yes I've been meaning to test the game in another DS, problem is I don't know anyone else who still owns a DS Lite, or another DS Game.

Darn it if only Game Freak would release this game on VC.

And yeah, I heard the same about the 3DS. I'm also quite sure main series Pokémon games won't be coming to any official emulation service without retooling to allow trading. (Of course, the Dream Radar has proven that same-system importation is possible with the 3DS, so RSEFrLg might be doable with that, but that doesn't solve the trade issue unless they can get EFrLg to work with the 3DS's Wi-Fi.)

Something I've been meaning to do actually, but most of my friends have 3DS', in fact I tried to get my friend to bring in his old DS but he kept forgetting until the end of school year.

I also can't meet up with any of friends because I'm still in school and I have no license so I can't go anywhere.

I had it looked at today it's not my copy of Emerald it's actually my DS, I'm gonna see if I can get a cheap used one.

Unless anyone has a DS they never use.
