I've heard something about getting Riolu in BW2, but I'm not sure how you get it, and I don't want to miss a shot at one. Anyone know?

Riolu appears around some sort or Ranch. It's near the VERY beginning. I already got mine. :3

According to Bulbapedia, it's a rare wild at Floccesy Ranch.

Yeah, it can be found at Floccesy Ranch after you complete the mini-mission of finding someones Herdier. Took me about 10 minutes but I did find one and catch one.

Indeed, Riolu is found in Floccesy Ranch at about a 5% rate of encounter. It took me forever to find one myself, of course I had to get one.

Lol, actually it only took me 3 tries to get Riolu.

To put together what everyone's said; it's a 5% encounter rate at Floccesy Ranch, available from the second you walk into the area. I found one on the 4th encounter, but I doubt many other people will have the same luck as me with that. You can catch a Riolu first, or finish the Herdier hunt. It doesn't matter which you decide to do first, that's your decision. Have fun with your Riolu

TPM is correct. You do not need to save Herdier. I got the one in the attachment immediately after the battle with the rival. Now if only its catch rate wasn't so low that I wasted a few extra balls...*catches anyway*

I now have a Riolu at Level 8 now thanks to you guys telling me about Floccesy Ranch... making me jump on the bandwagon like that. x3

Too bad Riolu has a pretty poor movepool for early game. Counter is annoying (and doesn't count as Fighting, sadly), and Quick Attack/Feint are weak.

While that is a inconvenience, it does learn Force Palm fairly early. So that helps I guess.

Force Palm was pushed back from Level 11 to level 15 so you'd have a harder time on the first gym. Counter doesn't really count as a fighting move. That kind of annoyed me on my first time through, but I pushed through with Quick Attack. I think I'm gonna catch some junk in Floccessy Ranch as I hunt for a good Riolu so I can trade me an EXP Share as well.

I'm excited that Lucario will be easier to obtain now.. Definitely gonna be on one of my competitive teams, that thing is a pure beast! I'm gonna try to EV train in in the middle of the game until it becomes my strongest pokemon and is fully EV trained if it's possible.. because idk ****?!

Correction, you can find the Riolu during the mission. I should know, I've tried it before with my Riolu, Rose.

And Counter's all about timing, really, especially with Cheren's battle.
