Well, someone said they were going to post one of these, but they never got around to it, so I'm gonna create it instead.

This thread is for any and all speculation relating to the third season of Friendship is Magic.

I guess I'll start off with a couple items.

First, we've got the recent announcement of Season 3 only having 13 episodes. I wonder if they're going to do a one-hour format, which is quite rare for animated material in the United States, or if they're going to focus harder on these episodes than before. Of course, they could do the one-hour format like Friendship is Magic, The Return of Harmony, and A Canterlot Wedding, which split the episode into two parts; that'd certainly increase drama with every other week having a cliffhanger. This certainly limits how much fan material they can do.

Second, I'd like to chip in with my own episode idea. For any fans of The Simpsons, there exists an episode titled 22 Short Films About Springfield, which tries to tie together a typical day around the city of Springfield by showing off a number of lesser-shown characters. Such a character collage could work well with Friendship is Magic if done right.

Finally, I'll contribute this. I forgot the source, but it gives off some good ideas.

I'm sure some of you have already seen this, but they did reveal two songs that will be in future episodes (spoilers obviously).

I hope there's an episode where Rarity FINALLY LEARNS TO APPRECIATE HER FRIENDS ONCE AND FOR ALL AND STOPS BLOWING THEM OFF FOR HIGH CLASS PONIES WHO DON'T LIKE HER.
I'd also like to see more of Tank and the other pets, and a new Fluttershy personality.
Pinkie throwing parties, Dash being fast, Twilight reading, all expected.
And I want some more stuff centered around Spike. He's too awesome to be ignored and undermined like that.

Hmm, according to IMDb, season 3 is looking at an October release. However do take this with a grain of salt as nothing has been officially confirmed, and IMDb is like Wikipedia in the sense that anyone can edit pages.

Pretty interesting to see they're cutting down on piracy by allowing you to watch the episodes on MyLittlePony.com.

I honestly don't think season 3 will come because of the new producer.

Uhh, what? The Hub has already confirmed it will be out in November.

I'm pretty sure the producer isn't Gabe Newell.

Aside from that, I hope we get an episode that explains the backstory of some of the more prominent background-ish characters and character-of-the-day type ponies: Trixie, Angel, Vinyl and Octavia, Lyra and Bon-Bon, Photo Finish. Maybe like that episode of The Simpsons where they explore all the backstories of the less-popular characters.

Trust me, I flow in certain circles in certain places. You have never seen storms as brown and smelly like the ones I saw when it was announced

Well...there are currently no reasons for it to be canceled. The Hub wants it, the fans want it dearly, the season's already been made, and November is really close. I don't see any reason why it would be canceled.
And speaking of those background characters, it'd be nice to have one of those *Doesn't know the term* episodes split in to multiple parts focusing on different characters. And more new characters that have some significant connection to the Mane Six.

Mark your calendars, season 3 of MLP is starting Saturday November 10th at 10:00 A.M. on The Hub. That's just a little over 3 weeks from the time of this posting. The premier will be an hour long to show both parts of the first episode The Crystal Empire.

Finally! Something to look forward to on TV! But it's just... what time zone is this? I'm sure it's not EST, and I'd like to make sure. Of course, I could always just wait until a few days before so I can use the cable box to see the time, but I might not wake up in time.
