So... I guess when you give it over a decade of advances, you can get really fast hardware in your pocket. Even when it's not new hardware...
My old desktop, circa 2001, and now dead
Pentium 4, 1.4 GHz
64 MB x 2 of RDRAM (128 MB in total)
NVIDIA GeForce 2 MX
20 GB of hard disk drive storage
Windows 98 Second Edition
Usually displays in 800x600, 16-bit colour on a 17" CRT
My current smartphone, circa 2012
Qualcomm Snapdragon S2, 1.4 GHz
512 MB of RAM
Adreno 205
16 GB of flash memory
Windows Phone 7.5
800x480, 24-bit colour
Think about it. Think about your first computer, and the phone in your pocket.

1 – TwiggyThat is true. I also think of how we used Floppy discs when I was young, and now a USB pen drive that is way smaller and has more storage space.

Your attached image is 404'ing. I wonder what you're trying to show? But, yes, I can see the advances... Remember when your average handheld game looked like a bad colouring job? Remember warped textures, wobbly polygons, and trees that don't look like trees? Lego people?

What is funny is that we used to enjoy all the devices we used and actually looked at them as miracles. Now, we freak out if we see such devices.
