Victory Road closed on January 8, 2018. Thank you for making us a part of your lives since 2006! Please read this thread for details if you missed it.
BEFORE SIGNING UP PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING!
1. The rules are as follows:
*No hacking or performing glitches to give an instant win.
*No snaking. However performing multiple power-slides along a single curve is allowed.
*Any kart/motorcycle + character combination is allowed EXCEPT for Funky Kong on the Flame Runner.
*When selecting a course, select the random button.
*You may use any control scheme that you wish (this includes the Wii Wheel/Wiimote on side, Wiimote+Nunchuck, Classic Controller, or GameCube controller).
*If you progress onto the next round you are allowed to to change your kart/motorcycle + character combination (again no FK on FR).
*The amount of players per race will be determined once we know how many participants we will have.
2. The tournament will be taking place on January 30th, at 12:00 P.M. GMT -8 (if you don't know what that is in your time zone, use this converter). Please plan on being online that day.
3. Even if you aren't sure on whether you will be able to participate or not, sign up anyway. That way if you do decide to be in your spot will still be open.
4. If you do sign up but later find out that you are 100% unable to participate, please PM me (as this thread will be closed soon).
5. The last day to sign up is Saturday the 23rd. Please sign up ASAP!
6. On the tournament day (January 30th) please be on the lookout for a topic (here under the Tournaments board) titled "MARIO KART WII TOURNAMENT TODAY - PLEASE READ". It is really important that you visit this topic as this will have the brackets and all the instructions on what you need to do.
7. Be sure you have your Mario Kart Wii Friend Code in your profile so that your opponents have easy access to it. If you don't know how to add it go to your User CP, Edit Your Details (one of the first choices on the left menu), and scroll down to the friend code section.
That's it. To sign up just simply reply to this stating your in. This thread is ONLY for sign-ups. Discussion for this lasted two weeks so if you didn't say anything about it then, it is to late now.
Guess I'll participate...just need to get my mind off of winning and I should be fine.
But, I'll say this again...If I drop the connection, It's because I lost my cool and didn't want to play anymore (most likely due to item rape). consider it a forfeit.
And yes, I use Rosalina on FR. it's just what I've become used to...don't b' hatin'.

I think I might just make a suggestion about the 'No Snaking' rule. I do believe it shouldn't be allowed, but the interpertation of it should be explored into further detail.
Story Time~
Ealier today, when I was practicing for the tournament, I played DS Peach Gardens. The hedge area with the Chain Chomps, at one time, required me to do multiple drifts to slalom and avoid the obstacles.
Because this may happen in the tournament and some people may see this as snaking (When it isn't, really. Many of the CPU players even do this in the game), I thought that performing multiple drifts without a mini-turbo should be noted in the rules as allowed. (And perhaps with a 1 mini-turbo error margin, as I sometimes accidentaly caused one at the end of the drifting.) Of course, this is just a suggestion, and doesn't require to be included, especially as it is difficult to explain. ![]()
