I was wondering if anyone would like to see the games get a darker tone to them?

Like more evil rivals, having someone die, or just grim story telling.

Personally I don't see what's wrong with the tone of the current games but I'm curious to see what other people think.

If Pokemon became darker in tone, it could draw in other groups of people, which would help Pokemon's popularity (and lower the "Pokemon is for babies" thing going around). I wouldn't mind a darker tone, as long as it doesn't stray too far from the original idea from Pokemon.

I think that'd be a good idea. But maybe it's cuz I just like dark stuff. And inb4some company rages about Pokemon actually dying or something (PETA reference) if it did happen.

Well Black and White had a more mature storyline to it, but I'd LOVE a darker story. Like a dying old man or the villainous team killing someone or threatening to end the world and destroy all mankind.

Really? I felt like it was a little too basic. Like having you match up weaknesses in the first gym; That was much too easy. And it was like the were aiming to reteach people how to play. But it would love a darker and more mature story line. Instead of the usual "The trainer must become the strongest of the strong and defeat all the gyms and the evil team that lurks in the region." That pretty much explains all the games. So I would too like it to be darker and mature.

I would like to see the evil teams getting darker and edgier, doing some slightly extreme things. Maybe a little bit off loss or sorrow, and something to act as the driving force of the plot, like the death of a loved one caused by Team Whoever.

Not really, it was just Blue asking you if you've ever seen a Pokémon die and Cubone's mother in Pokémon Tower. Other than that, it's a real kids game. And each game has a Pokémon Tower of sorts, so the dead are always acknowledged.
