Hey, Sunny (or anyone else with degree of competitive knowledge): with Quagsire's attack being higher than his Sp. Attack, would it be better for him to be carrying Surf (which has a slightly higher base power) or Waterfall (which is physical)?

Yes, it's rubbish. But hey, it got me through the game, and I'm not a competitive battler.

Interesting, so you plan on trading in Regigigas and Lucario, should provide a fair bit of support when needed.

That is, if I were to replace the game`s specific Legendary Pokémon (Ho-Oh or Lugia) with a different Pokémon. I`ll probably be getting both, but I haven`t finalized this team, or completely figured out the second one.
(Note:Charizard and Sceptile will be from in-game, Tyranitar caught in-game, Skarmory caught in-game, Umbreon obtained in-game and evolved, Feraligatr obtained at beginning of game, in other version, Typhlosion will be chosen)

I've a weakness for fire-types. It's terrible as a competitive team from what I've seen, but I wasn't going to use them for that. =w= I'd much rather have that Heatran instead of Flareon. 4x Ground weakness is much sexier. Really, though, I would. XD

I might also use a lucario if I have a lot of trouble with Witney.

I think that I should get Luxray. Well, I think I'll wait till the game comes out.

Yep, feeling real nostalgia right now with this team, mostly because Ampharos was one of my favorites from the old games. Got me out of a few tight pinches thanks to his use of the elemental punches.

I used Arcanine instead of Regigigas because if I were to enter a tourney with a no legit rule then I would have to use Arcanine. Actually, I won't ever use a single legit and stay loyal to not be cheap or a jerk.

alright, after figuring things out, and learning crap, my team is going to be as follows:
(too lazy to figure out numbers for the sprites)
Megainium (earthquake + a fav)
Vaporeon (only wall I know how to use effectively)
Ho-oh (who doesn't want an uber fire bird on their team? )
Jirachi (which I will obtain at gamestop tomorrow)
Shiny Raichu (from event)
*insert random pokemon here that doesn't share a type with the above listed)

This new team will be a good match up against every gym and I decided to use Heracross because I didn't want to bother catching a murkrow and Ekruteak gym only uses the gastly line so Espeon should still be good.

I'm hoping to pick up HeartGold either tomorrow, or Tuesday. Probably Tuesday, assuming I can get a ride to Wal*Mart. I've been thinking about my team for a while, and I think I'm going to go with this:



1. I've always preferred Bayleef over Meganium, mainly because I think Bayleef looks a whole lot more awesome. Plus, I've never gone through a Pokemon game without fully evolving my starter. I've tried before, but I always end up evolving them.

2. Bellossom is my favorite Pokemon in the series, and I've been putting back training one since FireRed/LeafGreen came out because I wanted to raise one during the generation it was introduced. I'm probably going to name her "Erika" after my favorite character.

3. I fell in love with Politoed during Pokemon Crystal, and I haven't trained one since, for the same reasons for Bellossom above. One of my favorite water type Pokemon, and I loved how they Ice Punched in Pokemon Stadium 2. They used their tongues, it was so awesome.

4. I've never trained a Houndoom, but I've always wanted too. I'm hoping I will this time.

5. Honestly, the Swinub evolutionary line never interested me until Mamoswine was introduced. Saying that, I haven't trained one yet, and I hope to this time. I'm probably going to make an egg in Pearl, and trade the egg to HeartGold, trading a Magmar along with it, so I don't have to deal with the annoyance of disobedience, and so I can get a Swinub earlier in the game.

6. Ampharos is my favorite electric-type Pokemon, and I haven't trained one since Pokemon Emerald. Her name is going to be "Alexandria" or "Aleks" as she has been since Pokemon Silver, and it's going to be a lot of fun!

I've never trained anything in the Ledyba evolutionary line before, and Ledian is one the coolest looking Pokemon ever, despite being kind of weak. I mean, look at it, doesn't it scream "superhero" from a series like Ultraman? I also might make a Ledyba egg in Pearl, and trade it along side with the Swinub egg.


Always loved the look and type combination of Lanturn. I almost trained one during Generation III, but honestly never got around to it.


After watching some online PBR battles on Gigatitan's channel, I just really want to train one. Never been interested in this evolutionary line, and I only evolved one in Pearl for the dex entry, but I'm strongly considering it now.


I had a Kingdra in Crystal, and I haven't trained one since. I'm honestly not sure why. But if I do get around to training a Kingdra again I'm totally naming her "Claire." lol


Because he was cool in the second movie.

I suppose this could be a Soul Silver team, if I ever get the game, just need to fill in a starter slot. lol

This is just based on everything I've caught to make my team balanced.

Cyndaquil - starter
Abra (with grass knot, shadow ball, calm mind, and psychic... with a twisted spoon) -awesome when its an alakazam
Feebas - bad, but milotic is worth it
Machop - fighting type is almost required
Jolteon (a level one jolteon... awesome....) - one of my personal favorites and is an awesome special attacker
Skarmory - incredible wall and decent attack... also need something to use fly

now if only i could find a pokemon to use cut...

Well, my team is going to be a lot larger than 6 and interchangeable, but my main team will be Typlhosion, Ho-Oh, Politoad, Togetic, Pidgeot, and not sure of the 6th yet.
