Pokémon + Nobunaga's Ambition, the recently-released turn-based strategy crossover of the Pokémon and Nobunaga's Ambition franchises, has had it's North American localization confirmed. The game is set to be released under the title Pokémon Conquest in North America on June 18th, 2012 for the Nintendo DS.

The premise of the game involves players taking on the role of a young Warlord who is linked with a Pokémon. Together, they must set out to recruit Warrior allies to strengthen their growing kingdom. Along their journey, players will encounter a variety of Pokémon from all 5 generations, as well as Warriors and Warlords inspired by the Japanese feudal era.

I did not expect them to release it so soon. It seems that The Pokémon Company is actually trying its best to keep its non-Japanese fans satisfied. I find this an improvement. I wonder how different this game is from the Mystery Dungeon franchise though. I wonder which is better.

This is great I really wanted to buy this game and I thought for sure they wouldn't release it here!

Looks like I'm getting yet another RPG for my DS!

This makes me VERY happy to see that this game is indeed getting a release outside of Japan! I'm excited for yet another spin-off game to be honest. I love PMD and Ranger, but this game reallllly reminds me of Dynasty Warriors, a game I loveeee, so it's going to be rather refreshing to see Pokemon but in a whole new style of gameplay for once. And they sure are reeling out these English releases rather quickly and so close to the Japanese release, I'm liking this... sure beats having to wait an entire year. But this just means my wallet will be crying a lot more often this year too it looks like. x3

That release is so soon!. I will be picking this up when I have the chance. My views on them dropping the Nobunaga's Ambition name: It seems odd because Nobunaga's Ambition games have released here with little to no alteration, but it is a relative unknown to Americans, so it somewhat makes sense to drop the name. On a somewhat related off-note, my old front-loading NES as finally died after playing a lot of Nobunaga's Ambition after this crossover was announced.

That's Oda Nobunaga, The man from which the Nobunaga's Ambition series gets its name.

Building "links" with your pokemon ought to be interesting.
