With less than 70 days for the release of the English release of HeartGold and SoulSilver, many speculations come up in our minds, one of them is Kotone's English name. Many people call her "big head" or "big cat", but c'mon! there must be a true name.
I think she will be called "Soul". What about you?

That's a tough question. Big head seems to fit her appearance XP
I agree that she'll be called Soul, but that depends on the male characters name. Though a male called Heart would be weird Maybe she'll be called Silver. |
They've actually only been doing that since third generation (using real names) and Gold is still Gold. Kotone can still be Soul, Heart, or even Krystal if Nintendo's feeling lazy. Silver isn't an option since that's the name of the rival, and a translation into something that would be closer to Kotone in English would also fit. But it might not be direct or literal. (i.e Dawn = time of day when sun rises, Hikari = light, two slightly related terms that don't directly translate into the same thing)
Her name in the Manga is Soul, but, ironically, in-game rivals always seem to be named off of their anime name instead (May and Brent in RSE, Dawn and Lucas in DPP). Then again, did Brent or Lucas ever appear in the anime? I know Soul already has, but there's no dub yet.
By the way... What's the name of Gold going to be? His name in the manga was Gold, but I don't think he ever appeared in the Anime (except as Jimmy), and his name never defaulted. That's what different here, the names all have to default; you can't choose them.
Additional Notes:
1. Silver still won't have a translated name; we can name him.
2. Were Dawn and May not chosen, and we went with the Manga pattern (which is how the games themselves are named), they would instead be named Lady Beryl and Sapphire.
GUYS GUYS GUYS GUYS GUYS CHECK THIS OUT!
Case closed.
Props go to Serebii for posting this info on their site, and OMGITSJAD for linking it to some of us on ***** and such.

What kind of name is Lyra?
I have given up my faith in PUSA choosing real names I mean Lyra doesn't even mean anything. |

The fingers of the free hand silenced the unwanted strings in the chord. The lyre is similar in appearance to a small harp, but with certain distinct differences.

Thread unlocked due to room for healthy discussion and due to a certain inquiry.
I also linked this thread to that random news post in PokeNews, link is here:

Some of the new names for other places and characters have been revealed. (EDIT: This is a leak and as such is not confirmed)
A few of them are disappointing in my opinion, especially the Rocket Executive names, as now only half of them (as opposed to all in the originals) have the names of real-life rockets, to my knowledge. Also, Sinjoh ruins just sounds... wrong to me.
