Surprisingly, there aren't very many common ones out there. I can only think of Jumping spiders, Zebras, Raptors, and Praying mantis.

Not all marisupials have been made into Pokemon, just kangaroos.

Certain species of fish have yet to be made into Pokemon, as well as squid.

Oh, and dinosaurs. We only have a few of those.

Arcanine is a dog and Spinda is a panda.

Spinda is a panda, Donphan is an elephant. There still are a lot of insects, fish, and reptiles that haven't been pokemon, though the reptile pokemon tend to be very vague. I personally hope for a chile pepper pokemon, but that's a plant.

Some other animals that haven't been made into Pokemon include marlin, komodo dragon, antelope, okapi, bearded dragon, constrictor/non-venomous snakes, MANY dinosaur species, and the list still continues.

There are a lot of bugs yet to be Pokémonified.

Just to clarify that Donphan and Phanpy look more like an ant eater rather than an elephant.

Despite phanpys big ears like an elephant, and trunk being flexible? Anteaters trunk (actually its there face) have skulls that lock it in place unlike an elephants. Also Phan-py - Ele-phant

And I know for a fact that luxray isn't based off any kind of dog. Its first evolutions form "shinx" is based on a "lynx" from the feline family. Luxray its self is a lion.

Oriental-style dragons— I know Dragonair and Rayquaza sorta count, but we don't have any maned, whiskered, serpent-bodied dragons yet despite Pokémon being based in Japan rather than the western world.

Also there is a lack of Cambrian-era jelly critters. I know Anorith counts there but I'd really like to see a Pokémon based off of Hallucigenia, as I would like to see more present-day deep sea fish like the tripod fish or hagfish.

There are actually two lions.

Entei is somehow a lion.Or at least I think Entei is, I heard from someone nintendo stated it was, but I think it fits a dog more easily.

And lopuny is a snowshoe rabit.

Coral snakes arent.

I think Doduo and Dodrio are supposed to be ostrich-like. I don't think there's a peacock pokemon, and they're could be more fish based off of tropical fish with interesting coloraions, they're all just blue or pink. I'm also pretty sure there isn't a vulture pokemon.

What is it with you and quoting Yoshi for no reason? It's just a bit... weird... Unless you think Phanpy's a lion, in which case... no, that's weird too.

Anyway, I think a good animal/Pokémon would be... Has the devil been made in to a Pokémon yet?
