As of 11/29/11, I checked the "Befriend a Pokemon Global Link" and saw Mudkip was at second place. MUDKIP! A pointless starter that has the dream world ability Damp. WHY!?!?!

I don't care about old and out-dated memes. If this is the only reason people are voting, we are going to miss out on auto-transform Ditto and Speed Boost Blaziken.

All because of a dumb meme.

And just to be on the safe side, I'm posting what will be replied on here so I can ruin it for you.

"Mudkips: lieked more than god itself."

"In Soviet Russia, Mudkip vote for you!"

Stupid mud-fish. It doesn't deserve to be on this when us competitive battlers would love to play with something that...you know, will actually be PLAYED WITH!!!

I'm done ranting. If you come up with more meme-related comments, I seriously could care less. It sucks to care this much about Pokemon battling but I do.

I'm kinda disappointed all the posts on /b/ and /vp/ didn't keep Magikarp in the Top 3. ;c

Anyhow, it's not like this contest was exactly "ideal" fro competitive battling in the first place. I swear I've seen Arceus and Darkrai in the top spot ever since this was started.

I see this poll as an opportunity to legitimately obtain an event-only legendary.
I would have preffered Deoxys, but it seems like Arceus is winning.

Arceus is nice too, since Deoxys was already in Ranger. Same with Manaphy, Darkrai and Shaymin.

Even if you are mad about it, you cannot do anything to change people's minds. Plus, it is in second position, so it won't be chosen any way.

Maybe people are getting pissed at people using explosion(Selfdestruct), so they're voting for it.

I just wish I understood the reasoning. I mean, Swampert is legitimately useful in competitions but all the same the fact that it's second to Arceus just seems bonkers to me.

I looked at just about everyone else and I understood why people would choose certain ones to vote for (except for the Hoenn legendaries; you get all three in the Johto remakes and there's seriously bound to be a Hoenn remake in the next couple years), but just seeing Mudkip in particular there in second above all others makes me a little queasy.

Was there like some sort of popular forum that told everyone to vote Mudkip or something? Seriously, for that many people to think of Mudkip independently seems...suspicious...

It's the popularity of the meme. I doubt a forum did that by its self.
