As the saying goes, you learn something new everyday... ideally. Did you learn something? What was it? Feel free to share.

Today I learned that there is a disorder called Best Disease, which causes blindness. Dang.

I'm afraid to know what Worst Disease is.

I learned that:

-I am Hitler
-FLCL and the pillows are available on iTunes
-people on live podcasts must edit out songs played over podcasts in order to put them on iTunes due to copyright purposes
-I have no idea how to fix an electrical fuse
-It's hot in Topeka California
-People with IE tend to have lower IQs than people who use FF/Chrome/Safari, with Opera and Camino users having the highest IQs

Today I learned that a wooden silver colored drumstick-pencil goes really well in the slot on the side of a fedora.
If that sounded boring and dull, wait a week. I'll have plenty of actually useful things I learn then...oh, yay for school...

Today, I learnt that it's very hard to find a site that will host your 36450x17700 image.

I also learnt that opening, saving or editing said image is a bad idea, even with a computer like mine.

Not sure if this counts but today I finally learned how to make perfect pancake mix that isn't too watery or too thick.

Thanks to A'bom, I also learned that Serendipitous means "a happy surprise".

Where do I begin? Well, for one thing, when exhaust is expelled from a nozzle at mach speeds and if the pressure within the free jet boundary is either lower or higher than the surrounding atmospheric pressure, a shock wave will bounce within the boundary and create what is know as a mach disk pattern or diamond shock. Very cool to look at in pictures. Even cooler to watch on youtube.

After this, I became interested in shockwaves, so I began looking into those. As we all know, shockwaves happen when there is a sharp change in pressure. However, did you know a shockwave can propagate through a vacuum if there is a magnetic field in it? Pretty cool, huh?

I also learned that if you put a belt on a person and have the side of the belt that is facing north vibrate constantly, it will give them super-navigation, even if they were already good at navigating. However, once the belt is removed (after a period of about six weeks), the individual will become crippled when it comes to figuring out where they are. Weird stuff.

Let's see... *reads a few Cracked articles*

The effects of 'Beer Goggles' (the more you drink, the more attractive others look) can be summed up with the following equation:

Embedded image

"An is the number of drinks consumed, limited only by your bodily fortitude.
d is the distance in meters between you and the object of your potential lust.
S is the smokiness of the room, rated between 0 and 10.
L is the brightness of the room, rated between 1 and 150.
Vo is a measure of your visual acuity, 6/6 being normal and 6/12 being "maced in the face.""

Today I learned not to make lava lakes in Minecraft at night and then forget where your co-ordinates are, because when a spider pushes you in you're dead and you don't know how to get back.

Another thing I learned today: People who play Tetris after a traumatic event are less likely to suffer flashbacks. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetris#...s_on_the_brain

Yes, but playing tetris for long periods of times actually causes hallucinations.

Well, it only makes sense that you can't have flashbacks while you're busy hallucinating :V

Today, I learned that my band's Color Guard is 5 people, versus the 18 people I had previously though. That calls for both a sigh of relief and a facepalm.
I also learned that I REALLY need to take my laptop to the library for my volunteer work. And some headphones. I had like nothing to do for like 2 hours. It sucked.

So I've noticed, as well. It shows you a regular screen for like 3 seconds, then the coloring suddenly gets all screwed up. It's weird. That's why I stopped trying with my laptop.

Either way, today I learned (WHY DO I IMAGINE MYSELF SPEAKING IN A BRITISH ACCENT WHEN I SAY THAT!?) that summer assignments and long, boring, and they horribly kill your grade if you don't do them. So now I have to do them...UGH!
